No problems really with the casting. Here hoping for a much better script than the last 2 movies.

Teller does look a bit young, especially with Kate Mara... His voice is a bit annoying too, but I'm willing to see how he does.

Still not happy about Jordan, but I do think he can pull off the witty side of Johnny.

Mara is the best choice out of the bunch.

I don't care about Bell. He does look kinda young for human Thing.

Have you ever seen any other movie than IM3? Every comment you make is to call down IM3.

Danny DeVito as Mr. Fantastic
William Shatner as Sue Storm
Boris Karloff as Johnny Storm
Jennifer Lawrence as Ben Grimm

Would probably work just as well...

In terms if casting a classic fantastic four, they're not the best fit to their roles (apart from Kate Mara because she's older)
But if you're looking to cast a group of talented young up and comers then these four are exactly who you'd want.

I think it'll surprise us.

At least it's not going to be a comedy!

Forget the Johnny Storm being black issue, which in my opinion is completely ridiculous. Who gives a shit if he's black as long as he has that brother/sister relationship with Sue. But the whole cast in general seems to be very off choices to me. Especially Ben. I don't have a lot of faith in this.

WHY NOT BOTH? *mexican music*

I honestly like most of the casting (especially Mara as Sue). I'll need to see them in costume to make judgement though, but im glad they are going with a younger cast more in-line with the great First Class movie.

It's terrible.

Reed is going to be played by a goofy guy who can't act & won't pull off a genius intellect.
Johnny is going to be played by a black guy..Torch is NOT black.
Sue is going to be a white girl..she's Johnny's sister,if your gonna change race..do it for both siblings.
Ben is going to be played by a short skinny guy when Ben is supposed to be a big, street tough ex-football player turned ace pilot.

Some day MARVEL STUDIOS will do it right.

A wise man once told me that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Now using common sense, I came to the conclusion that if it is broken, don't break it further eventually leading to you obliterating it. Now I wish Fox knew that. They are taking something like, a fart, and turning it into a fart with some "action" (shit) behind it.

Another illustration, a man is walking on a bridge and falls through a hole. Because of this, they put up a sign that says 'Danger!' expecting people to notice it and avoid the hole. The next day another man is walking on the bridge, and he TO falls through the hole. Now....whose the dumbass? The man that fell through the hole the first time, or the second man who fell through the hole?

@CB, I think you're on point: not good fit with traditional FF, but talent is there. I guess we'll just wait and see.

I think there's a lot of room for an action film with some comedy (sometimes makes it easier to take on all the weird sci fi/comic-y stuff that no one but comic fans understand), but the track record for FF movies is pretty bad, so...

a good movie is possible, but probability for a good movie is extremely low.

Wow Miles Teller a bad actor? I don't think I've heard anyone say that!
I also don't see the big fuss of Sue and Johnny being adopted. Adopted siblings can have exactly the same emotional relationship as blood related ones. I don't think the fact they're blood siblings is a central part to their character but the fact that they are family is.

Trank could save this, just wish Max Landis was writing the thing with him.

The moral of the story is, Fox has shit themselves, and they need someone to clean them up and send them on their way.

If this was casted by marvel you would all love it...yes we would because it would have been casted by folks with a one point five billion dollar hit. What a crazy thing to say...listen I hope this movie does make it because the ff are my favourite group of all time. But it certainly seems to me that Trank is taking a rather massive gamble that could hideously backfire.

Human torch being black? Is that really a problem? Its a movie people get out the comic book life and think for once. It only matters if these people can act or not. Everyone should know by now Michael B Jordan is a great actor. He was good actor in Hardball The Wire "early work". I can't wait until this reboot. I've loved all the new reboots more than the original movies.

Who cares, lets wait for footage before judging..
Look at henry cavill, before MOS he was no one-just the shitty actor from immortal and that DOGSHIT movie with bruce Willis. Look at him now after MoS, despite mediocre film he was a solid likeable Superman-not the best but one but im looking forward to see him next.
I have fait this FF cast will pull it off good but well see on footage

It's just that this film will seem to be mostly based on the Ultimate counterparts of F4...and the Ultimate universe is the worst! Besides a couple arcs here & there and Ultimate Spider-Man(for the most part anyway), the Ultimate line of books are not that good.

I don't have a good reason for not liking this cast. I agree with the earlier post. I'd like them in anything else. But I don't like them for Fantastic Four. That said, I won't start declaring this movie Agamemnon Flower just yet (nope that wasn't autocorrect). I'll wait. Josh Trank has taken a pretty big risk here though. Going with a cast that has gotten such mixed to negative reception means the onus is entirely on him to make this work. Personally I love taking on challenges like that so I get why he went this way.

As for foam rubber Thing - I agree that was awful. But I don't think FX were where they needed to be to make that work. CG thing probably would have been worse. Yes they did Gollem and Hulk before that. Both of those characters were still covered in skin. We have a pretty good idea how that moves. Thing's rocky hide is a different matter. I don't think 2004-5 FX were up to that challenge.
