First Trailer And Character Posters For NBC's EMERALD CITY Starring DAREDEVIL's Vincent D'Onofrio

The first trailer for NBC's Emerald City definitely teases an altogether darker take on L. Frank Baum’s iconic yarn, though the setup remains pretty much identical: a tornado whisks Kansas resident Dorothy Gale (Person of Interest‘s Adria Arjona) off to a magical land, where she encounters warring witches and all manner of magical creatures.

We even have versions of the Scarecrow (well, a muscle-bound dude covered in straw), the Tin-Man and the Cowardly Lion - though some big liberties have been taken there.

Check out the teaser and a couple of posters below. You can also see a batch of character banners HERE.

Actually looks okay.. but I hate all the messing with classic characters, The Scarecrow should be a scarecrow not a male model on a [frick]ing cross.

Had no idea this was a thing. Doesn't look too bad, might be worth a check out. The effects looks pretty good as well.

Tarsem Singh (who did the gorgeous THE FALL) directed this. Gotta give it at least one episode.

Does Vincent D'Onofrio have some expensive alimony or something? The dude seems like he's in everything.

I'll never understand the obsession with the Wizard of Oz. How many movies, TV shows, Broadway plays, and so on has it gotten? Whereas the Barsoom series gets one shitty half-assed Pixar adaptation and no one will ever touch it again.

This will get cancelled so quickly.
