JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE Sequel Casts LETHAL WEAPON Star Danny Glover

The sequel to 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will see stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan reunite for another adventure, but as recent casting developments have revealed, there is still room for some new faces.

Just today, in fact, it was revealed that veteran actor Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon) had joined the cast. No details on Glover's role have been revealed, but he joins a list of new additions that include Danny DeVito (Batman Returns) and Crazy Rich Asians' Awkwafina.

Along with bringing a number of the stars from the 2017 film back together, director Jake Kasdan will also return to helm the sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 13.

I'd actually joked a couple weeks ago that if they wanted to try another Ghostbusters movie they should cast Danny Glover. I guess Sony looked at my joke and said "Well, we're not doing another Ghotbusters, but we can put him in Jumanji".

@Repian - good catch! Though my next question would be, why not just have David Alan Grier play that role again?

I want a Lethal Weapon 5. With Glover, Gibson, and Donner at the helm. I don't care what it would entail, but I would be first in line at the theater.

I would love to see Joe Pesci in a Jumanji sequel. That would be so hilarious.
