First I'm hearing about this movie. It sounds like it could be a Percy Jackson deal.

Legendary Pictures has its sights set on a fantasy entitled Slayer. The Hollywood Reporter has word that the company has picked up the script from newcomer Martin Helgeland.

Set in present day, Slayer has a doctor dealing with the loss of his father and uncovering the truth about his dad's identity. Not only was his father a dragonslayer, but the doctor is next in line to take up the mantle.

Alex Garcia and Alex Hedlund will produce with Brian Helgeland (the father of Martin and the writer of films like Payback and Mystic River) executive producing.

Sounds interesting enough, considering the limited info. Dragons: check. Slaying: check. What more do you want for your movie dollars?

Dragonslaying in the medieval times would be cool like in the style of that ´80s Dragonslayer movie.
But yeah no more dragons in the present day.

why don't they make the paradise lost movie instead of this. they also delayed jack the gaint killer for no reason i was very excited about it and there is still no news about the mass effect movie and cloud atlas movie. anyway they mostly make good action movies so i have no objection if they make it different from reign of fire. wish they also produced green lantern it could have been so much better in their hands
