If you're a fan of Luke Evans, than all these new images of him as Bard the Bowman in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug must be quite a thrill. Bard, is a pivotal role in the books, as his archery skills and his bloodline help to defeat the Dragon Smaug. As for the actor, he is a very busy boy of late. He landed the lead role in The Crow remake, playing Eric Draven, and he is supposedly up for the role of Batman in the Man of Steel sequel. Competing for the part against his Hobbit co-star, Orlando Bloom.

The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

Not a fan. I remember when he "came out" then achieved moderate success and then went back in the closet. Haven't seen The Hobbit but I'll just buy it right before the sequel comes out.

luke evans or armitage are better choices for batman as of late, but the [frick] is orlando being considered? hes a pretty boy, not dark knight material. Wes bentley is the best consideration I have heard so far, if I would go for anybody its that guy. Scott adkins should be stunt man only. the combination of two actors working stunts and actual drama separately is the only way we will get a comicbook accurate batman... that and if the costume designers [frick]ing get their heads in gear.

@blackjack Except those three named, theyre acting chops no where rival these guys. just saying. especially witwer and hoechlin, no where near. Bomer is good, but sorry doesnt come off as batman. only mcintrye you suggested, and really he should just get a consideration. and btw, evans and armitage arent oscar winners, and besides the hobbit, are relatively unknown to the GA...so unvalid points.

would like Luke as Batman. He and Cavill would be a great team on the big screen

Dammit Azog is back. That whole side plot was lame, doesn't belong in this story. Feels shoehorned to stretch out the movies.

Luke Evans for Batman! I've only seen him n a couple of movies, Imortals, and The Raven. He was the coolest Zeus ever. The dude can act and looks the part.

Luke in his Bard garb looks so much alike Orlando Bloom, I was almost convinced that Bloom plays both Will Turner and Legolas in this.

@Dusk ahaha, epic!!!)))

@StarkAnthony, yeah, Azog is the lamest story part of the first movie... it MUST ended in first film, no way back him in the second one.

Luke Evans would be the best Batman. It's so awesome that I've been saying this for two years and now he is being considered.
