“Jack the Giant Killer” tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittinglyopens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend–and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Full cast includes Nicholas Hoult, Ewan McGregor, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy and Stanley Tucci. Jack the Giant Killer is set to hit theatres on June 15, 2012!

All I gotta say is: people thoght X-Men First Class looked bad and ended up being a top of 2011 film, I think the success of that film had allot to do with Singer's involvement,so he made a so so Superman movie, oh well!every good director always has a not so good film under their belt, Supes was his, now get over it and move on, Jack looks pretty cool and I look foward to seeing it in theaters.

This film looks like Jack and the Beanstalk rather than Jack the Giant Killer?

The only good movies singer has ever made were the first two X-Men films.

Hey hey, Bryan Singer didnt' destroy x-men, but he did not do to good with supes. It was Brett Ratner that killed the x-men, literally. This image comes strait out of the Jack the Giant Killer Full Trailer. It is an interesting concept, I dont know if it will be good or horrible yet. I am not sold on Nicholas Holt yet.

singer is a good director,X2 is one of the best CBMs of all and it was his X men movies along with blade and spider man that made CBMs mainstream again and proved that there weren't only batman and superman to look up to. I enjoyed superman returns, it wasn't great but it was watchable and it nearly made 400 mls in box office and has rt rating of about 64%. And also bret ratner killed x men franchise not singer. I believe that singer can give us a good movie and Jack looks good, give it some time and wait for another trailer,if like it then go n see and if don't like then don't go,but bitching about singer just becoz you didn't like his one film is not cool. NO 1 IS PERFECT,NOT EVEN YOU,BUT ANY1 CAN IMPROVE,BE BETTER,EVEN YOU

It's a clever idea, to put a 'Brothers Grimm' spin on fairy tales. After all, that's what fairy tales really started out as.

But Hollywood does have a long history of making disasters out of these types of stories.

One exception I'd say would be "Big Fish". It's not exactly a fairy tale, but it's like a fairy tale. Maybe you could say that "Hellboy 2" was kind of a fairy tale movie. I also liked "Willow", but that was more of a war story. "The Princess Bride" wasn't really like a fairy tale.

@NeoBaggins They should have an abuse alert category for false reporting.

@JohnPaul Grifter asked if the dude had downs syndrome. He didn't call anyone names. That's a bitch move on your part. Just saying.

@JohnPaul

I am not sure if this a remake of the 1962 film because I dont think a beanstalk was in that film. This film looks like they've combined the two fables into one...and modernised it.
NeoBaggins
NeoBaggins - 12/28/2011, 12:43 AM
"So NeoBaggins, you think it's ok to call people retarded. Like, so and so has Downs Syndrome, like you are insulting them. Do you not see how hateful and hurtful that is to people?"-JohnPaul

Hateful and hurtful to what people? Beast is a fictional character and the word retarded is not designated to a certain group. It's a word with a meaning.

If you're going to police the word retarded, you need to report every example of the word stupid, slow, dumb, sucks, lame etc. If not, you're being pretentious and hypocritical.

The reason why you hit the report button is because you think this film is looking "awesome" and you love the story. You're no advocate for the retarded. You're just defending something like a fanboy in the lowest way possible.

And a good point was made. Grifter didn't call anyone a name and yet you reported his comment as "name-calling". How do you explain that with any dignity?

@ Newbus - You might be right. I saw the 1962 version when I was around 10. I may have read a lot into it. But I think the similarities beg some research. I've got to look into now. It's gonna bug me till I know for sure.
