POLL: What Did You Think Of OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

We liked Sam Raimi's ambitious Wizard Of Oz prequel fine here, although I don't think it really blew any of us away. But we are merely Tinkers behind CBM's curtain, what did you guys make of it? Vote away after the jump..

OZ: The Great And Powerful seems to have pretty much split critics down the middle, but audiences seem less divided as the movie has been raking it in since it went on general release this past Friday, ensuring a sequel has already been greenlit. But does it deserve one? Visuals aside were you engrossed in the story? Did you care enough about the characters to want to see more of them? Or would a Finley/China Girl spinoff suffice? Vote below and sound off in the usual place.

The Wicked Witch looking like she was wearing The Mask was hilariously terrible. Raimi should have just had her say ohhh somebody stop me when she popped up, it would have fit perfectly with the "script".

very good visuals, dumb storyline, good voice acting, over the top acting on kunis and franco's parts, good acting by williams and wiez. it was enjoyable but it wasn't great, or even good for that matter.

Meh, nothing special. The acting made it hard to watch. The china girl and Glenda were the only enjoyable parts of the movie for me. I probably wont bother with the sequel.

It was like watching a made-for-tv movie with the effects budget of a big theatrical release. The characters were caricatures. Cartoony. The dialogue was less than spectacular and just aweful in places.

I only ever cared about one character and that was the China Girl.

And at several points I found myself completely ignoring the dialogue and actions of the characters in the foreground in order to experience the landscape and backgrounds more. Pretty bad when the story is so weak and the visuals are so spectacular that they actually become a pleasurable distraction.

When Mila Kunis was ripping off her clothes, I wish that scene had lasted longer. Maybe they made an extended cut of that. Might buy the dvd for that.
