A few weeks ago, a report hit the web that actor Rufus Sewell was the latest to join the ever-growing cast of Alex Proyas' upcoming adaptation of John Milton's Paradise Lost. However, we haven't heard official confirmation about the casting until now. Variety has confirmed that the actor will be playing the partisan Samael, who urges Lucifer to start the rebellion in Heaven

Rufus Sewell is reteaming with his "Dark City" director Alex Proyas, who has cast the English thesp in WB/Legendary's "Paradise Lost." Sewell will play Samael, Lucifer's partisan who urges him to start the rebellion in Heaven.





Paradise Lost hits theaters around the end of 2013.
