“Jack the Giant Killer” tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittinglyopens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend–and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

You fanboys are ridiculous.

So he made a movie that wasn't very good and it so happened to be one of your pecious superhero characters. So now, even though he made 2 great X-men movies, he is basicaly the son of the devil or something.
Superman Returns aside, Singer has a pretty good track record more than I can say for a lot of the directors making CBMs out there

Every one just needs to get their heads out of their asses.

The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil, Valkyrie, all great movies with high critical acclaim. Fanboys are idiots who only think in spandex and childhood playthings. Sure CBM are fun, but they are not the end-all and be-all of serious cinema let alone mature cinema. When someone like Bryan Singer makes a CBM it may not be everyones cup of tea, but he'll make it out of love for the source material and not for the paycheck. Superman Returns may not have been his best presentation to date, but his X Men movies set the bar for Marvel films and were outstanding considering the lack of a decent budget he had initially.

On Jack the Giant Killer, this is nothing like the original movie I grew up watching so I'm intrigued. Nothing worse than doing a remake exactly like the original and bringing nothing new to the table. I'll keep an open mind.
