That is some of the laziest writing. I can see the writer's meeting now...

.."we need some sort of a show down. I know! Baroness can run to the roof, Duke can chase her, she blows up the roof then jumps onto a jet to get away."

"why doesn't the jet land to get her? and why is she there on that mission anyway? it seems like she's just there to be there."

"too many questions! it's settled! pointless chase to the roof. blow it up. then escape."

And those 'power-suits.' What the frig is that? Kevin Smith's interview comes to mind when he talks about the "checklist" he was given when he was writing Superman for the studios.

1) No Cape. The cape is out.
2) He can't fly. That just won't work in a live action movie these days.
3) He has to fight a giant spider in the 3rd act.

Years later he went to see Wild Wild West, produced by the same guy that gave him these restrictions. There it was on the big screen, a giant spider in the 3rd act.

I bet some Yahoo involved behind the scenes had some sorta hard on for these power suits in some other project that never happened, and damn it, he was going to get his power suits!

Why do people act like power armor is a new concept? It's been utilized in dozens of games from Halo to Fallout and honestly doesn't seem that out of place here. GI Joe did all sorts of nutty shit in the comics and cartoons that made little sense. I bet a fair portion of you will be giddy as school girls if Serpentor were to appear and stab Duke through the chest with a live snake(which happened in the cartoon), how cheesy is that shit, but oh no, lets not add modern technology to the Joes, heaven forbid that. Oh yeah, Cobra soldiers have been featured in a myriad of powered suits and devices to enhance them in combat, so yea power suits of many varying kinds have been in the Joe universe since its conception, though not utilized by the Joes themselves.

Frankiepoo5: dude, that was a 2 minute scene, you have no idea what events led the conflict to this building. You know no more about this movie than anyone else. So just chill a minute bro. lol, we all know about the Schumacher/giant spider ordeal. It is weird, and I'm glad Kevin Smith is smart enough to say, "[frick] that retarded shit."

I just wish people would actually go see a movie before talking shit about it, because all people really succeed in doing is making themselves seem very narrowminded, ignorant even.

@ The Myth......its a Stephen Sommers film why would you expect it to be good.

Dont get me wrong guys but this directors movies always start out great and then Sommers says hey theres something missing??? and F#CKSs the movie up turning it into a cheesy Dracula/Monster Movie or a really shitty Indiana Jones Movie......and they are always PG-13. He likes to make movies that everyone will go see even the mentally challenged kids........Please..

Look if Stephen Sommers is the grip on a movie its enough to stay away from it. Unless you like settling for low quality and half assed movies.

But hey there something for everyone now isnt there :)

Meh, looked ok. Though why the hell doesn't the Baroness have a Russian accent? I mean come on! Is it really that difficult?

Casting Director, "Congrats you're the new Baroness, do you have to speak with that Russian accent? Na, I wouldn't think it matters, it's not like it has anything to do with the character."

I mean is it that difficult? Blah, I'll see this movie, but I'm not happy about it thus far.

Hellmont lol I don't expect it to be good, nor do I expect it to be bad. I haven't seen the movie, I was just pointing out how people tend to make premature judgments based on nothing. I mean, how can someone say it will suck. It's like saying a woman is ugly before meeting her or that a book is a bad read without having read it. So Sommers is attached, who knows, this might be were he redeems himself... or puts the final nail in the coffin. You don't know, and neither do I until we actually watch it. To pass such an early judgment without having witnessed the film in its entirety is just plain unfair.

First and foremost let me see I never bitch about movies. I might have a few probems with it, but I still usually like it, for god sakes I like Dare Devil. That being said ive seen nothing about this movie that would make me think its going to be good. Will it be a SUPER ACTION PACKED HAPPY FUN TIME CRAZY NINJA ROBOT MOVIE!! Yeah it probably will. Will it be Gi joe? Probably not.

I mean really it doesn't matter what I say, or if its good or not, or how much I bash it. Because im going to see it the day it comes out lol.

Oh and yeah I know I wrote this already in another post, and I read what you had to say, its just I have a hard time agreeing with you on this. Yes I haven't see n the movie, and like I said im going to love it like I love all movies, but my hate isn't of the movie, its not like im just saying this movie is full shit, im just saying this movie is full shit from seeing this clip, I haven't seen the movie so I have to judge it on these clips alone until I see it, I mean thats why trailers are made to have you want to watch it or not, trailers are meant to be judged, and I mean if we didn't talk about the movie, there wouldn't be much need for sties like these.

First off let me say thanks for the extended clip it let me see something that maid me hate the movie more lol. What I really want to say is thank you, thank you so much, The Storm Riders was such a bad ass movie, I had no [frick]ing clue they where making a part two 'Storm Warriors' this is such great news. Oh and here is what made me hate this even more. At first I thought Storm Shadow looked pretty cool, then I seen his Hightops that he was rocking and I thought that was pretty funny, but this blows everything out of the water, I guess I didnt notice this, but Snake eyes has a ruber mouth lol. Yes in the comics he has had sometime an endint in his cloth mask when he was talking, but this is just stupid looking.

As you can see the first pics of him look pretty good, I mean its dark he is in the shadows, hard to see much, but all in all he looks like a ninja, a lean mean killing machine.

I totally agree about Snake Eyes! I thought I was the only one disappointed by his design. That rubber suit looks bad, and I never understood the fake mouth thing, was it necessary? They had the right idea, but not well executed. It looks like he could barely move in that suit, it really doesn't remind me of a comic-con fan suit.

I blame Iron Man for the suits. You know after last summer some idiot studio guy or even Sommers himself or some moron who had never watched seen read or heard of GI Joe though,"The kids love the Iron Man." Annnnd here we are with a turd in our faces. Smells good doesn't it? Isn't it great when Hollywood just says "[frick] the source material; the fan boy assholes will pay to see it anyway, and we'll still have their money." It just burns me that one: The producers and director obviously didn't care. Two: the writer seems to be a hack. Three: They cast some monotone half wit boy/model/flat actor wannabe to play Duke. Four: they couldn't even get the general feel for the iconography, Snake Eyes.... For God's sake Snake Eyes is a minimalists dream when it comes to wardrobe... Balaklava, wet suit top/sweater, web gear, ammo, weapon,SWAT Pants, knives, sword, combat boots, visor/goggles...DONE, what is with this rubber shit? Ray is ripped enough to not need a rubber freakin' suit! Don't even get me started on the mask. Five: All the individuality of the characters has been stripped away. Six: I hate to say this but I am very sad that Larry Hamma had anything to do with this at all. Though I am sure they simply hired him as a tech advisor to please fans and then isolated him off in a trailer somewhere during filming and never checked to see if he was even alive.

I've never shoved my head up a camel's ass, but I've seen enough shit come from it and heard enough bad about it to know its somewhere I don't want to go. My God have you actually looked at the little 3 minute ditty up there? Clips are supposed to be the best they've got. You show snippets of the best stuff to get people interested, and if THAT was some of the best they've got....Man, that is some pathetic shit. I'm usually a very even keal guy here, but this movie has pissed me off at a near molecular level in how thay have handled nearly every decision. I am a seething ball of boiling pissed about this thing. I will not see it, but I will laugh at those who make comments like the ones I mentioned above who DO go and then come back on a later post and say, "Man, that sucked." Well no shit Sherlock! It looked awful going in. My passing judgement based on released pics, trailers, clips, and script reviews just saved me $40 bucks, hell I'm more than happy I didn't go. And I'm not going, they screwed this up too much, it is not the GI Joe movie I waited a life time to see and I'll not waste my time or money on it. Call me in five years when they attempt a reboot and at least put a hood on Cobra Commander head. Faux Joe!!!

@Yohon Alcoholic(lol): you always assume I'm directing my rants at you bud, lol. I get what your saying, especially that trailers and clips are meant to give us a hint as to what we are going to see. But again, I liken that to say... reading the inside flap of a book to see what its generally about and then saying the book is shit because of it. I have my own issues with this movie based on what I've seen so far, one being Marlon Wayans in the cast, and when that missile hits the Eiffel tower, the CG of that green shit is so terrible it really just doesn't look realistic in anyway, I honestly think of Roger Rabbit every time I see that part. However, I'm not gonna sit here like Grif or other douches and make such a call as to say the entire film will be garbage based on such little knowledge. I'll watch the movie, then say it's garbage lol. Sometimes it just gets a bit frustrating seeing so many people just outright judge a book by it's cover so to speak.

It's not judging a book by its cover, it's just simple logic. The script looks bad and the acting seems worse. I'm not about the little details, I'm not bothered by the suits or the weapons, I'm bothered by the fact that it seems like a child wrote the dialogue it's cheesy and cliche. This movie could have been acceptable...if it was well written.

Crap, it is going to be the Channing Tatum show. Somehow I had no idea he is supposed to be Duke. I had high hopes that he wouldnt be the main character but now that I know he's Duke my hopes are officially dashed!

Why does he fling his helmet off when he's chasing the helicopter? It protects your head, dummy! Plus, those things are expensive. We tor down an orphanage to make that helmet! Cock-ass

Yohon and LEEE777 you guys couldnt be more on the money the film unfortunetly isnt for any one of us its geared towards the kids. Granted we would love to see our heroes go out and kick some ass but thats not gonna happen. Unless we just dont attend the 1st two weeks of the movie premiere. That isn't why this movie is bad, it's bad because in every trailer and every plot detail released it seems to be a poorly written, cobbled together mess of a film. It lacks any soul, which is needed to make it a serious movie which it attempts to be. Like I've said earlier if it was promoted to be a kids action flick along the lines of spykids it would be acceptable, but it's being promoted as a summer blockbuster the likes of transformers. And against that standard it will fail.

... I'm sorry but.... the whole "GEEET OUT!!!BANG BANG...nice shoes" line... totally ruins it for me, I mean that goes beyond cheese and into lame-o-land. Add the fact that the acting seems taken out of a gradeschool play... and that the CG looks bad (I know some will say that they can fix the CG before the premiere.. well they should fix it before leaking any of it) and that just makes me think this movie will be sort of like Van Helsing, a horrible movie that inexplicably ended up doing good at the BO.

And yes, I'm judging a whole movie based on a minute and forty-five seconds, I hope I'm wrong but so far it looks extremely lame.

Oh and "The Myth,"(is that name like geek speak for when a little dicked rich guy buys a Ferrari?) I may have implied you were whining in a very light hearted way, but calling me a "sniveling pussy and moron," etc for expressing my opinion just makes you look like a pompous ass who didn't even read my post. I sited all the reasons why I don't have any faith in this, in my above posts. No I don't want lasers, no I don't want them to look just as they did in the 80's; Resolute showed that their looks can be updated just fine without dressing them all the same and robbing the characters of their individuality, which is my biggest problem in the look of the film. I have read reviews of the script: all reporting it to be sub par, from sources I trust. I don't like the director’s previous work. I don't like the casting. I don't like what I have seen so far; that's my opinion. And so I choose not to see it, because personally I don't think it will present the team in a way that I would enjoy. I tried to write a fun post to show my anger at the way the property was handled. And express that I wasn't going to see it, and said you could see it if you wanted, but not to whine if you felt cheated. My choice. My opinion. My reasons. All there.

In previous posts I have stated why GI Joe was special to me. My dad was a Marine and often deployed at sea when I was young so playing with the Joes and reading the comic books gave me a feeling that he was out there somewhere doing good, a very child-like view, but hey I was 5 to 10 at the time. When he was home we spent a great deal of time bonding by playing together with the toys. So there has always been a great emotional link to GI Joe for me. He brought me Joes from all over the world, as a kid.; Action Men from Europe, more unusual versions from South America and Asia. So yeah, seeing all the alterations to the source material and the disregard in the way this thing has been treated all around has really pissed me off, more so than any comic to film property and I am zealous in my dislike for it as a result because it was a big deal in my childhood. Deal with it. My opinion. My reasons. As you said defending Wolverine was personal to you. Defending GI Joe is personal to me. It has been done a disservice and I'm angry about that.

Let other people have an opinion different from your own without having to make yourself feel superior by trashing someone personally. You just come off as a prick anyway. So let me just say [frick] you my friend. God bless and good night.
