It plays much the same as the last one, but with some alternate shots/dialogue, and a bit more focus on the action.

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), son and heir to Los Angeles' largest newspaper fortune, is a rich, spoiled playboy who has been happy to maintain a direction-less existence. When his father James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) mysteriously dies, Britt meets an impressive and resourceful company employee, Kato (Jay Chou). They realize that they have the resources to do something worthwhile with their lives and finally step out of James Reid's shadow. Kato builds the ultimate weapon, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car with every weapon and gadget imaginable and Britt decides that in order to be heroes, they will pose as villains. With the help of Britt's new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they learn that the chief criminal in the city is named Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). He has united all the gangs under his power, and he quickly sees that the Green Hornet is a direct threat to the prosperous criminal underworld he controls.

The Green Hornet hits theaters January 14th, 2011 and stars Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Cameron Diaz, Christoph Waltz, Edward Furlong, Edward James Olmos and Tom Wilkinson. The film is directed by Michel Gondry.

This movie doesnt look too bad. I was never one of the nay-sayers, but it looks better than I thought. Wish we could have gotten a cool, no laughs, noir take on Green Hornet though.

Did I miss something or was the Green Hornet invented as a tag along tv series for the 60's Batman?
Seriously. If there's an earlier version of the character can you let me know please?
The only Green Hornet I know is the 60's incarnation so to me this movie makes perfect sense.I think it looks quite fun :)

FYI Spartan76, Green Hornet starred in radio and serials through the 30's and 40's. Just like Batman, the 60's Hornet show was a campy version of a pulp action character.

remembers seeing GH in the 60', it had a serious take to it instead of the campy appeal of the Batman show, hope this one surprises us and is a break out of the year movie

Haters gonna hate, that's the way the world works. But with the incredibly talented Michel Gondry helming this film, it shouldn't be a surprise that this movie will be good, I'm really looking forward to see more of the "Kato Vision".

First time I heard of this I was hoping it'd be great. But the 1st trailer put me off. This one kinda restores my faith a little. It'd could be good!

Ugh. Still looks like ass. I hate in comic book movies when the lighting guy thinks it'll be real "comic book-y" to have awful garish colors everywhere (looking at you Punisher: War Zone). Hate it even more when the color is green, because it's the Green Hornet, of course. I mean, come on, really?
