Good for him. He's also a millionaire and banged Scarjo.
Give us 'Deadpool', and keep the platitudes.

Reynolds would have been a great Kyle Rainer, but he's just NOT Hal Jordan.

Just like Joel Schumacher in the Batman and Robin DVD, I'd love to see Martin Campbell or Geof Johns explain how they ruined Green Lantern and apologize to the idiot haters here are CBM. :)

Am having this premonition that haters here will go over the other article on the Capt America blu-ray and tearfully ass-kiss it to high heavens.

I saw the new Bluray edition at my work today. The ONLY thing that makes me want to purchase this movie (in the bluray edition) is the Arkham City Yellow lantern skin. Way to take something extremely successful help out the extremely unsuccessful, DC.

Batman is always picking up after WB's crap.

they should sack geoff johns from his dce chief creative officer postion.

someone who knows the character so well & probably made set vists every day, actually i think he was executive producer of the movie,if thats the case he should hang his head in shame.

the green lantern was a shit cbm,not the worse but definetly the worse this year out of the big four.

@ComicBookMoron: From what I can tell, Johns didn't work on the film at all. :)

And if that were to happen, I want a novel sized apology from all the crappy films from Marvel. FROM not by.

Just watched it on PPV-- not bad for $6. Lowered expectations may have helped.

I just don't get why Martin Campbell would sell out like this. He has always been against CG and then to just go for the big pay day.

But again not bad for $6.

Hal Jordan wasn't serious from the get. He became serious as shit happened to him.

That being said: Johns is a douche!

Fell asleep during this movie.. Seriously I did. Please Reboot this with a better actor. Heck would rather a no name actor takes over or switch to Guy or John and write Hal off doing something else. Or maybe recast Hal and give him a small cameo so then you can do another Hal without Ryan "all about me" Reynolds

I enjoyed the movie, it was not as good as Thor or Captain America, but it was a whole hell of a lot better than X-Men First Class, that movie was fracking horrible.

A lot of people act like Green Lantern was the worst superhero movie ever made. Trust me, a lot worse are out there ex:) Ghost Rider, Elektra, Catwoman, you get the point. I am not saying Green Lantern was a great movie, it definitely wasn't but it wasn't horrible either. At least in my view it was a decent entertaining comic book film. Nothing more, nothing less. Two main things that bugged me about it the most were Hector Hammond who just didn't do enough as a villain, and too much time spent on earth in the movie.

For all you guys here comparing Green Lantern to other cbm's: electra had a 43 million production budget, ghost rider had 110 million, catwoman had a 100 million...
and green lantern had a 200 milion production budget!!
it did even cost a lot more than thor or cap.
now you could argue that it's much more important how you spend that money, but with all its potential in mind it was a quite disappointing movie

TheBatman938865- No trolls here, just people with taste in cbms (jokes) I will say Green Lantern had its issues (Hector Hammonds hilarious screaming for example) but I'd take that over Michael Fasbenders fracked up facial expressions whilst trying to move something, or Professor X's shoddy acting, or Banshees non-sensical flying. First Class was rushed (and you could tell) the special effects were somehow worse than GL's (GL's SPFX weren't terrible but they weren't good) and overall I probably wouldn't have hated it so much if they would have called it what it was (Cough Reboot Cough) instead of a prequel. Thanks for reading.

As a fan of Green Lantern, I enjoyed the film. I've said it dozens of times here, it was a flawed film, but it was still pretty good. If you people actually truly gave a shit about Green Lantern at all, you'd buy the DVD so they can make the money to do a sequel. Campbell's already been sacked, and everyone considers the post credits scene non canon and they want the majority of movie 2 to be in space, only coming to Earth for the third act to pretty much blow it up (and set up movie 3) before returning to space to close it out. I mean seriously, grow up you man-children.

I thought GL could have been so much better, as everyone has stated. I thought Chris Pine would have been a better Hal. Anyway, I watched it for the second time (once in the theater and second, rented it) I actually enjoyed it a little more. I cleared my mind of what everyone else thought and saw the movie for what it was, entertaining, with a small side of disappointment, only knowing it could have been better.

rbfn04 - 10/15/2011, 6:37 PM
@SoupKitchen exactly man. As I watched 1st Class all I could think was "well, SFX is not better than GL (fyi i didn't have a problem with his costume. it was supposed to be a construct, it made sense it didn't look like fabric). Acting is not better".

BTW, Jordan was a lot more loose when he started. So a jokster makes sense.

Now, was it a great movie? No. But I had fun watching it.
