Day 4

The Green Lantern production crew has truly taken over the Big Easy. Filming has already taken place in over ten locations, with a few more on the horizon. New Orleans' Central Business District isn't immune to production infection either, and was recently used for a scene involving a new character in Green Lantern mythology.

Senator Hammond, portrayed by actor Tim Robbins, is the father of Peter Sarsgaard's Hector Hammond; one of Hal Jordan's tentative villains for the film. The First Bank & Trust building, located at 909 Poydras Street in New Orleans, LA, was used as an impromptu office for Senator Hammond. Filming took place between Tuesday, April 13th, and Wednesday, April 14th, in the penthouse office of the bank building. Through the use of scaffolding, blue screening was rigged over the office widows' exterior to facilitate the crew in inserting a Washington D.C. backdrop during post production.

And this, ladies and gentleman, concludes my personal coverage of the Green Lantern set. In case you missed them, here's a rundown of the past five exclusive set reports:

Cool stuff yo. Man I really like Tim Robbins can't wait to see how he does as Senator Hammond. I wonder if Geoff Johns might have a little cameo in the movie kinda like what Stan Lee does in Marvel movies. I know he didn't create Green Lantern but it still would be cool. lol.

I dont know why yall think Blake Lively is right for the role, she is so wrong for it, this has Kate Bosworth all over it.

I'm not too sure if there is even a picture of Blake as Carol yet, Poni. At least, it's not proven.

I've seen the very first set pictures, and people claimed Blake was in it but I think it was just a crew girl with brown hair (with the blue-white tanktop).

She looked nothing like Blake, even with the picture with her facing showing. I know it's not a good shot, but I'm sure it's not her.

I could be wrong.

Doesnt Matter, shes the wrong choice, I dont know why people say shes such a good actress. IMO Evangaline Lilly, look at her, perfect Carol no doubt. And about 98% of people whom ive told that Blake is in it all say Oh God No or Oh Hell No

We know this has Kate Bosworth and Katie Holmes written ALL OVER IT

I didnt mean to send it again, apparently when you refresh, it sends your last message again, dont know why.

Anyhow I bet the same douchebag who cast those two cast Blake. Why do you think Marvel has pretty much been spot on with theirs.
claybo4131
claybo4131 - 4/18/2010, 1:23 PM
Well IMO Sinestro should be the villian anyways, you dont have to kill him off, do it like X Men did with Magneto, then you can add a Sinestro Corps later on. There is a difference between looks and acting ability, one thing that doesnt fit is shes 22, thatd be like putting Paris Hilton in charge of the Hilton Hotels.

Yeah but acting wise, has anyone watched Gossip Girl or Traveling Pants, bad tv show and movie in general. I saw a few clips on GG and was like WTH, might as well cast J-Wow from Jersey Shore. If Blake was cast as Cheetara I really would have puked

InstigatorGIRL - 4/18/2010, 1:36 PM
I'll give her a shot. My biggest fear with her was she wouldn't dye her hair and she has. Even though I don't like those Traveling Pants movies she honestly wasn't bad in them. Anyways.
Also whoever said they don't have to kill off Sinestro, my view is they better not kill off Sinestro. Also I hope that they are making him like what Ra's al Ghul was to Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. That would be awesome. I admit I wasn't an avid reader until recently of GL but isn't that how Hal's relationship with Sinestro was at first?

I have a feeling that if Lively does well as Carol, then you haters will look like a bunch of idiots. Like the people who doubted Heath Ledger as the joker.
claybo4131
claybo4131 - 4/18/2010, 2:53 PM
I didnt doubt Heath as the joker, mainly cause at the time he did have an Oscar nomination, I also didnt doubt RDJ as Tony Stark especially after the first photo of him as that. The reason I dont have faith is recent DC casting hence Katie Holmes, Kate Bosworth
Phinehas
Phinehas - 4/18/2010, 5:03 PM
Oscar nomination???

That is not a reliable source of reference since its a popularity contest for personal causes and factious activism.
Peter Sarsgaard? <---Good actor
Tim Robbins? <---Good actor
Mark Strong? <---Good actor
Ryan Reynolds <---Good actor

What's the problem?

@ clayo4131 - Didn't Halle Berry not just got nominated but actually won an oscar? And she didn't do so well as cat woman. Lively was said to have read and won the role. She'd be my last choice out of all those in the short list but we haven't seen any of them bring those roles to life. Actors usually get the characters and nail the role or they don't

*Random* Wonder if the squirrel will be in the movie ...
claybo4131
claybo4131 - 4/19/2010, 8:30 AM
WB only cast her cause she would have cost less than the others that auditioned, to promote Gossip Girl for the CW and to attract that female age demographic for the movie.

Yes Halle Berry did win the Oscar but she shot Catwoman before then, plus Catwoman should never have been a movie we all know that.
