During the inaugural
Brightest Day comic panel, fan favorite author and new DC executive Geoff Johns answered a few questions about the highly anticipated
Green Lantern movie:
- Though fans expressed interest in Johns returning as a writer for TV's Smallville (especially to include a Green Lantern cameo), he declined, saying,
"Well...I'm pretty busy right now. I think I'll let the movie do Green Lantern." - When asked by another fan if a
Sinestro Corps War animated feature was on the horizon, Johns responded,
"I haven't heard anything about that. But would you guys want to see the Sinestro Corps animated movie?" At which point the panel audience cheered.
- Johns was asked why it was decided for Sinestro (portrayed by Mark Strong in the film) not to take center stage as the villain for the first film; he responded,
"I just try to make him more interesting to me. I think he's gonna be great, and you'll really like Sinestro in the film if you liked him in my books" - The last bit of info Johns divulged was whether actress Blake Lively, who is portraying Carol Ferris in the film, will be sporting brown locks on screen. It was
first reported here a few days ago that Lively was indeed seen on set with dark brown hair. Johns not only confirmed it himself, but added,
"She looks great. Trust me."
For those of you who don't already know, I've just returned from my unofficial visit to the New Orleans set(s) of
Green Lantern. I couldn't help but smile at that last tidbit from Johns regarding Blake. I know there are a few people who are skeptical about the info I've been putting out, but I assure you, this isn't the last time info I've released will be confirmed by a higher authority.
