In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, an elite force of protectors for peace and justice has existed for centuries. They are the Green Lantern Corps. When a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of the Corps' newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds). Bringing the popular superhero to the big screen for the first time, Green Lantern also stars Blake Lively (Gossip Girl), Peter Sarsgaard (Orphan), Mark Strong (Sherlock Holmes), Academy Award® nominee Angela Bassett* and Academy Award® winner Tim Robbins**.

GREEN LANTERN was directed by Martin Campbell, from a script written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Michael J. Green, and Michael Goldenberg. The film starred: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Tim Robbins, Taika Waititi, Temuera Morrison, and Angela Bassett.

They should really make a green lantern movie ! Hell may b a sequel in join in wid Mos.. The movie was bad /GL/ but i guess ppl wil forgive it , if they made a better sequel ! Wolverine origin was so bad still we got another wolverine which was IMO not much of any upgrad than the last one.

I still found Green Lantern enjoyable, and nowhere near as bad as people made it out to be.

They need to reboot gl, he's one of my favorite characters, and this movie doesn't do him justice

Pity there's not enough goodwill for this movie to garner a sequel. Sinestro being the villain could have carried it better.

i thought Green Lantern was ok. A sequel could be made and if done right could tie into Man of Steel… Somehow … maybe. I definitely don't think WB/DC should abandon the film in favour of a reboot.

This movie was bad. It was a missed opportunity :/ I remember when Geoff Johns was talking all that sh!t around the time that Green Lantern was coming out. He was saying stuff about how much better DC characters were than Marvel and how Green Lantern was just the opening of the flood gates to the entire DC Universe. That worked out well.

A best way for Warner and DC to save money and the franchise would be to mix Reynold's GL to the Arrowverse which has already has some Coast City references. Reynolds wasn't that bad and I think that he wasn't the main problem with this movie.

First I didn't think this was that terrible. It was just okay. Second the worst movie Warner Bros ever did was Catwoman. Don't reboot Green Lantern just include him in Justice League down the line.

As a long-timed fan of Green Lantern since my childhood,I had mixed emotions about the movie!I did kinda enjoy it but felt the movie could have been better in terms of the story and the villains! The story was all over the place and didn't have a coherent direction moving the movie forword and they missed the mark with the villains,Parallax and Hector Hammond, who shouldn't have been in this movie yet.Sinestro was perfection(thank you Mark Strong)! And the special effects were good! This character deserves a 2nd movie!Remember,Superman Returns didn't connect with audiences but got a 2nd chance!

I think a loose reboot would do the trick. Get Chris Pine as Hal Jordan. reuse the conceptual designs for the other Green Lanterns. Their uniforms are conjured at will and should reflect their own styles that can be altered depending on the situation or mood. Give us a more modern Oa that is more lush with plants more light and less darkness. Give us an Oa with global planetary shields. Hal Jordan's stories do not have to intersect with the DCCU yet.

John Stewart played by Chadwick Boseman if they are going younger Idris Elba if older. His GL can be a founding member of Justice League. Let Jordan be the space cop. Hal Jordan and the rest of the GL Corp can come into play when a crisis is great enough for their need to appear.

When will WB learn that the only directors/writers best equipped to bring these characters to life are the ones who've grown up reading the comics of any given superhero. They need to plan now for 2016. Hopefully we will have some announcements come 2014.

Also find the movie enjoyable (not really hard to please person). Yes, the movie has a lot of issues, but I think a proper sequel would have solved the problems.

And I think most of us liked the idea of the sequel (yellow ring vs. GL). :) would have been so much better.

This could have been so much better. I'm not even a Green Lantern fan but if this where to be a success in kick starting the DCCU then we might have gotten more diverse and individual DC properties on the big screen eg. The Flash.

They should make a sequel with a new cast (except for Mark Strong, they should keep him!). Just reiterate the origin in the first 5-10 minutes of the film and correct the mountain of [frick]-ups that comprised the rest of the first film. Green Lantern is a franchise that could be very successful if they would commit the same effort to it that they give to Batman or Superman.

So many trolls make it sound like this film was the worst ever?? Someone here mentioned catwoman for starters so GL was not the worst. I liked the movie and I enjoyed it and I love the charecter and will continuo to love it and long for more movies whether a sequel a JL or reboot I don't care that much as I liked it. Before it used to be only stupid critics nowadays internet trolls everywhere act like critics smh

@SADVIPER

I am as big a Green Lantern fan as there is. I don't have favorites between Hal, Kyle, Guy, or John. Hell, I even like the new kid (Simon Baz). It doesn't make me less of a fan to be displeased with this film (it was terrible and had WAY too many flaws). I feel that, if they had put the effort into it the way they had with Batman, it could have been a great film. I understand that WB was hesitant to take a chance with the character but they really missed an opportunity. The film seemed to be (in my opinion) a two-hour toy commercial. It wasn't the worst ever (Catwoman, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin. THOSE were some of the worst films ever made. Elektra and Daredevil were also spectacularly shitty). It's not trolling to not like a film. It would be trolling if I bashed YOU for liking it or went on every thread repeating the same, tired, commentary. Just remember, "de gustibos non est disputandum".

I find it hilarious when people say the CGI didn't change from the 1st trailer.
