Green Lantern: Ryan Reynolds Discusses the CGI Costume and Hard Training

Ryan Reynolds says training for a Martin Campbell movie is like "a knife fight in a phone booth."

Ryan describes his Green Lantern suit as "the most aggravating" he has worked with:

"This costume is a motion capture suit that I'm wearing, so because it's not seen on camera they've managed to find a material that I think most would agree is the most aggravating substance on earth. We're shooting in Louisiana which is pretty close to the sun. The suit's been difficult running around in a unitard in the New Orleans summer heat."

"The training's just different. You're not training on an aesthetic level, you're training on a functional ability. You want to stay out of the hospital as long as possible, but it is a Martin Campbell movie so you're bound to be there once or twice. Martin described it as a knife fight in a phone booth."

Green Lantern is set to hit theater in June 2011.

Yes. I'm sure all the kiddies will be boycotting Avengers because Wasp and Ant-Man aren't in it. :P

Sounds good. Reynolds seems like he has the right amount of passion here.

Love the posters Tankgirl and I have to admit if they found a way to put a phonebooth-knife-fight into the movie that would be frickin' cool, lol.

A knife fight in a phone booth at close proximity to the sun while wearing nothing but a unitard made of the most aggravating substance on earth AND being married to Scarjo... He just described the entire seven rings of hell!!!

It isn't plagiarism when you quote the source or where you got it from and she has at the bottom of the article. The link called ContactMusic is where it was obtained from.

Therefore it ain't plagiarism. Unless it was only put up there a few minutes ago and I'm arriving late in this conversation. But I don't think so, I'm sure I saw that link earlier.

plagiarism definition - a piece of writing that has been copied from someone else and is presented as being your own work (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&defl=en&q=define:plagiarism&sa=X&ei=J0VQTOj-DYbw0wTdmNGFBw&ved=0CBgQkAE)

She's quoted it and given a link so I don't see what the problem is. No signs of plagiarism. Unless I'm completely missing something here or I'm going blind SUPERFAST.

@Mileena16- Don't think the puppy is too cute. He's one of the Lanterns. : )

I still don't have a feel for this movie yet. It seems like everything's falling into place, but I just haven't had that epiphany moment. Maybe I need to see footage (hint, hint).

I’m very new to this website as I’m sure you know. I’ve been reading the site for over 5 years but have never had the courage to sign up. Wellllll, I only just signed up today and I’m not sure how things exactly work around here, however…

I'm quite acquainted to the whole plagiarism thing due to doing an A Level qualification in IT and we were told over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again we couldn’t use an image or any piece of work for that matter which was created by someone else without at least properly referencing who the author is and where it came from. In some cases we even had to ask them permission by contacting them directly. Basically it was drilled into our skulls.

If I had to say anything it would be the referencing. We were told by our IT teacher to put the author’s initials, name, any other authors, date it was created, the html link, the date you accessed it yada, yada, yada. Basically everything under the sun to cover our hides from copyright infringement, as we were asked to create a movie magazine for coursework. So I’m following the rules what my IT teacher told us here.

You must have edited the article before I saw it, so that’s why it doesn’t appear to be plagiarising now. I can see little bits have been chopped out by comparing both articles.

So no, it isn’t plagiarising anymore. But before you edited it I’m assuming there was definitely some sort of plagiarism issue from what you’re saying. Like I said ‘late arriving in the conversation’.

My Rule No. 1

I will not dive head first into any more conversations, which don’t concern me. (Especially conversations which are in mid-conversation).
