Steven Roush, a journalist for Examiner.com, recently posted an article which discussed the impact Green Lantern has had on the Louisiana film industry.

In the following excerpt, he revealed what character Jay O. Sanders has been portraying in the film:

"I was honored to be used as a stand in for Jay O Sanders who is playing the role of Carl Ferris, owner of Ferris Air where Hal, Ryan Reynolds character and Blake Lively’s character, Carol Ferris are test pilots. I was very impressed with the studio but even more impressed with the dedication Ryan Reynolds has put into the character of Hal, aka. The Green Lantern. When I heard I was going to be on the set with Ryan Reynolds I was ecstatic to have the opportunity to watch the out takes we see on television first hand. Sadly their was no such thing, no funny business at all. Too bad for me, but excellent news for D.C. Comic Green Lantern fans. His dedication to the character will be well appreciated by the viewers. Living in Louisiana provides a chance that I will be able to see some out takes in person someday."

Sanders has over 30 years of Hollywood experience, including roles in JFK, The Day After Tomorrow and Revolutionary Road.

Carl Ferris is very closely connected to Hal Jordan's life in Green Lantern mythology. He was one of Hal's father Martin Jordan's closest friends in the Air Force; and later became his boss at Ferris Air where Martin Jordan wasa test pilot until his death. Carl is also Carol Ferris' father.

This set picture, posted on CBM several weeks ago, shows Sanders standing outside of the Broome's Bar set during the first day of filming. Ryan Reynolds (Hal Jordan) was also involved in the scene:

Once again great find Multi. Hey do you remember the pic I made of you a while back as part of the petition for you to play Cap. Well, I'm thinking of doing one of you as president instead. Why? Because you [frick]ing rock the GL news and really what more can you want in a president? lol :)

@Interesting & @Multi: If they make a sequel, you guys should definitely write it, you two have some nice ideas and seem to know how to please the fans!

"Sanders has over 30 years of Hollywood experience"

Well... of all those 30 years of experience, the ONLY thing i remember him by is his role in "Angels in the Outfield". He was the douche bag radio announcer. He actually kicked ass in that role though! And for everyone that's wondering, it's THE MOVIE that put Joseph Gordon Levitt on the map... even before 3rd Rock From The Sun.

I know how he feels, I like those ad-lib/out takes of Reynolds and would have loved to watch those first hand *lol* - but at least this news tell us that RR isn't fooling around and being the usual funny guy for this film.

How about the casting of Hal Jordan's Parents ? I think there's going to be a Flashback scenes on Hal Jordan's childhood that he lost his father and Carl Ferris was friends to his Dad stationed in the US Air Force, when he was a kid ? This will be a great idea for Jay O'Sanders stationed in the US Air Force with Martin Jordan. My casting call on Hal's Dad (When he was a kid ?) will be Ray Liotta, Sam Neill, Denis Leary, Paul Reiser, and Ed Harris). Jessica Jordan is Martin's wife and she can be played by Linda Fiorentino, Mary Steenburgen, Sally Field, Mary McDonnell, and Debra Winger

Off topic (kinda): I know this might be not really important, but actor Pierce Brosnan was in talks to play the role of Alan scott in this film. As i'll say again this probably isn't really important...or is it?
