SuperHeroHype had just learned that actor Jon Tenney (Brothers and Sisters, The Closer) is set to portray Martin H. Jordan in Martin Campbell's film Green Lantern. In Green Lantern mythology, Martin Jordan is a former Air Force and Ferris Air test pilot; and more importantly, he was the father and mentor to Earth's first Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. Tenney was kind enough to offer up a bit of information regarding his shooting schedule for the film:

"'The Closer's' letting me shoot off in June a little bit, and I'm doing a little picture called 'Green Lantern,' and that will be fun!

"Ryan Reynolds is the Green Lantern, and when he is a young boy, like 11, I'm his father. I'm Hal Jordan's dad. I'm very excited – it's incredible company."

When asked if he had anything to discuss regarding the film's script, he said, "Well, it's under lock down, that script. It's very, very secretive. They’re only releasing sections of it, so they're keeping everybody in the dark."

"What I've read is amazing. And 'Green Lantern' was one of my favorite comic book characters as a kid."

Tenney should be arriving to the New Orleans, LA, set of Green Lantern around the same time as Mark Strong; who will portray Hal Jordan's other mentor, the Green Lantern Sinestro.

Something about popping cherries on this thread and licking ice-cream on the Blake Lively one.

I think somebody's having a banana split.

Ok, people. I left that one wide open. Have at it.

Morgan Freeman for the voice of Mogo.

With Morgan Freeman as Mogo they could do "March of the Green Lantern Corps".

"The male Lantern stays with the egg, while the mother Lantern must endure a harsh, 72-mile journey to the sea to retreive some much-needed food."

"Tragedy strikes. Krib has stolen one of the eggs. The male is disgruntled."

Ah, I was hoping for Fillion, but whatever. I don't watch the Closer, but this guy looks the part so I guess it's cool.

This guys looks exactly like Martin Jordan (if he would shave) so I approve of the casting, since it's going to be a short role anyway.
