SuperHeroHype had just learned that actor Jon Tenney (Brothers and Sisters, The Closer) is set to portray Martin H. Jordan in Martin Campbell's film Green Lantern. In Green Lantern mythology, Martin Jordan is a former Air Force and Ferris Air test pilot; and more importantly, he was the father and mentor to Earth's first Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. Tenney was kind enough to offer up a bit of information regarding his shooting schedule for the film:

"'The Closer's' letting me shoot off in June a little bit, and I'm doing a little picture called 'Green Lantern,' and that will be fun!

"Ryan Reynolds is the Green Lantern, and when he is a young boy, like 11, I'm his father. I'm Hal Jordan's dad. I'm very excited – it's incredible company."

When asked if he had anything to discuss regarding the film's script, he said, "Well, it's under lock down, that script. It's very, very secretive. They’re only releasing sections of it, so they're keeping everybody in the dark."

"What I've read is amazing. And 'Green Lantern' was one of my favorite comic book characters as a kid."

Tenney should be arriving to the New Orleans, LA, set of Green Lantern around the same time as Mark Strong; who will portray Hal Jordan's other mentor, the Green Lantern Sinestro.
