In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Thanks to "He-Man" on the SuperHeroHype Forums for spotting these pictures of the upcoming range of kids tie-in books and sharing them with us online. There are still no specific details available about these books, but I think the artwork is cool enough on its own regardless.

Green Lantern is set to be released in 3D on June 17 later this year, starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Mark Strong!

Yea.. second Picture does look really awesome.. too bad its not actual still photos from the film.. I hope they are still fine tuning the cgi suit to look like these art photos.. cause green lantern looks HARDCORE in some of these art photos.. future is looking bright for us DC fans..
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 1/8/2011, 3:59 PM
Thanks guys. :) I hope the costume ends up looking exactly like this in the movie. The trailer was fantastic, but the suit was almost lime green in some places...this is much better looking.

GinGuilt - 1/8/2011, 3:59 PM
And you are right, the second pic looks a lot like Kyle Rayner. But awesome, nevertheless.

And GOD,I laugh 'till I cry everytime a read a "In Johns we trust!" or "This is way better than anything Marvel(or DC) delivered so far!"

I mean,grow the f up.

I wish Ryan Reynolds could actually be as serious about the role as these drawings make him look. Sadly, I have the sneaking suspicion we're going to get a bad Tony Stark impression. Here's hoping I'm wrong...

I'm hoping that the suit only has those weird lines on it because the ring makes a suit fitted for the being wearing the ring (Abin Sur's skin looks like the suit) so I hope the ring eventually gives the suit a more smoother look to it since human skin doesn't have that ridge like texture...it just looks weird IMO. Every time I see Hal my attention is pulled away from him to that jarring suit....meh...maybe I'll get over it when i see the film.
kakinurmawth
kakinurmawth - 1/8/2011, 5:31 PM
If the story doesn't blow, I think I'll look past the suit.
