The Manhunters are an android race, originally created by the Guardians of the Universe to serve as the first interstellar police force. The Manhunters became more obsessed with administering punishment than serving justice, forcing the Guardians to dissolve their ranks. The few Manhunters that survived fled into exile and the Guardians founded a new elite police force called the Green Lantern Corps and armed its members with specially crafted power rings. Now the Manhunters are back and out for revenge, readying their forces for a war against the Guardians and the Green Lantern Corps. Faced with destruction, the Corps is looking to you as the newest recruit, gifted but cocky test pilot Hal Jordon, to protect peace and preserve justice. Building on the anticipation of Warner Bros.' feature film Green Lantern, in theaters June 17, 2011, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters includes the likeness and voice talent of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, who is the star of the upcoming motion picture.

Product Features

-Master the Ring: Wield the Green Lantern Power Ring to create a spectacular range of "hard-light" constructs including a gatling gun, giant fists, and much more, all of which can be linked together to form an endless number of combinations.

-Stand Together: Join forces with a friend to play as Hal Jordan or Sinestro to battle the Manhunters, with the ability to drop in or out at will.

-Take Flight: Dodge, blast, and destroy legions of enemies as you soar across the universe in battles of intergalactic scope.

Wow $60 for a video game. That sounds like a lot. Oh wait....I dont play video games so why should I care. ;)

Ps: yes this is me Starsapphire. I noticed that I've become more of a Marvel girl so until Dc releases something "OMG THAT MAKES THOR LOOK LIKE CRAP" worthy *cougth cough trailer that features Hal beating up Parallax and more sinestro and less focus on comedy* then I dont plan on going back to StarSapphire. Deal with it. ;)

@BlackWidow-I'm sure DC will get right on that now that you changed your name.

@Spidery1994: The Martian Manhunter and The Manhunters have no relation, other than their namesake.

@AllPurposeNaji: I'm thinking the same thing. I don't think the game could ever live up to my expectations. The only videogame based on comic book movie that I liked was Spider-Man 2. While this may be its own story, it's still in the movies universe.

TheBlackWidow/marvel72: Cool new usernames guys. Both your reasons make perfect sense to me, because lets face it, Marvel will always beat DC in both comics and movies. :P However, I have to admit that this game sounds 100x better than both the Thor and Captain America ones! It'll be interesting to get to see some screenshots and footage because it has the potential to be a really epic game if done properly.

It would be unwise for DC to not spend enough development time on this, in order to capatilise on their success with Arkham Asylum.

I absolutely love Green Lantern and have really high hopes for this, that being said, I am sadly aware of Double Helix's other games and the best one they have made to date was the lukewarm Silent Hill: Homecoming. I hope you guys don't lay down any pre-order cash on this yet and wait until some in depth previews or even a review comes out.

Where are the gameplay vids? For a game that soon will be released, there would be vids already.

This game would be crap.

@JohnTom88 - The game is expected to be released in the summer of 2011. The next major gaming convention that year (outside of PAX) is the Electronic Entertainment Expo (beter known as E3) in Los Angeles, which will be June 7-9. That would be the perfect opportunity to show game footage and walkthoughs, so I am expecting to see it around then. That being said, there may be a trailer released for the game before that.

P.S.: according to the video below this game will also be available for the XBox 360 platform and will be releasd on June 1, 2011. It will also be available for Nintendo Wii at the same time as the PS3 and XBox-360 versions of the game. I also noticed that the version for Nintendo Wii is cheaper (only $39) so it is possible that there migh be some differences between platforms.

@Dnno1, both Thor and Cap games have gameplay trailers. Later released Batman Arkham City has some detailed information and screenshots. I think there's something fishy about this game, it reeks that the developers don't have anything good to show ATM.

@JohnTom88 - I Will have to agree. Very little detail has been given on the game and it has been more than 8 months since they announced that that they would be producing it. The other thing is that the game is being done by Double Helix which is not really known for good quality cgi games in the past. Lets hope that their collaboration with Square Enix on "Front Mission Evolved" pays off and they get something that at least looks good. Moreso than that, lets hope that the release of the information/trailer is being timed with the release of the film. Since this game is kind of based off the movie, I don't think that the producers want to release a trailer that could divulge a lot about the film before the film folks let out their next trailer (probably around the Superbowl).

Based on the discription above I am expecting this to be a first person shooter type of game where the constructs will be your arsenal of weapons that you will used to destroy your enemy. You never know, it might turn out to be somewhat popular, but I am sure the went with Double Helix Games to turn a quick profit since it seems like a good number games based on films have been done by them and they seem like a lower quality for less cost type of outfit.

That video was humorous the first two times you posted
it. Now, on the hundred'th time, not so much. New
material is a good thing.

This game sounds promising, though I dont own a system.
This paired with DCU online makes me wanna pick one up!

I just realized that this week is the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. This is a good opportunity for them to show off the game. If it doesn't happen this week I can't say much for being able to promote it until summer.
