Green Lantern opened up to mostly negative reviews and a disappointing performance at the box office. At this point, it's likely that the only thing which will ensure a sequel is if Warner Bros. can claw back some of the movies budget from DVD and Blu-Ray sales. Green Lantern was the only superhero movie released this year (excluding The Green Hornet) that I only saw once, and while I can't pretend that I liked the movie all that much, I'll definitely buy it when it's released here a few days after the US. Why? Well, the promise of an extended cut is very appealing, while I can't deny that there are actually a handful of moments I'm looking forward to reliving in glorious high-definition. Green Lantern is set to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the US on October 14th and in the UK on October 17th.
