Ryan Reynolds On The Chances Of A Green Lantern Sequel; Says Deadpool Is "In Development"!

After the tepid critical and box office response to Green Lantern, the status of a sequel has been pretty up in the air, despite recent talk of a darker, grittier and more action packed take on the DC character next time. So, what does Ryan Reynolds know of it? You can find that out in the following interview, as well as what exactly is going on with R.I.P.D. and Deadpool.

"'R.I.P.D.' I'm doing next and then hopefully 'Deadpool,'" Reynolds told MTV News in a recent interview. "It's in development still."

As for whether or not this means the actor will be forced to choose between one or the other, he said:, "No, not at all, far from it."

"I have no idea, that's not up to me," the actor responded when pressed on the subject of whether or not we'll see a sequel to Green Lantern. "I don't write those checks. And if I did I certainly wouldn't be standing on a red carpet, I would be sunning myself somewhere. There are infinite [possibilities for a sequel]. 70 years of history there, you could go anywhere."

The only thing I liked about Green Lantern was the cast. I thought Ryan, Blake and Mark were perfect for their roles, and each of them acted it well, even, surprisingly Blake.

I just read on Total Film that Warner has confirmed they are making a sequel only it will be darker. Due to fact that the "dark" aspect has never been done before in a comic book movie....oh no, wait.

I hate Deadpool, and even I don't wanna doom the character to Ryan. He's literally incapable of being the main character in a movie without turning it into a romance comedy.

Ryan Reynolds is a great actor, he was awesome in Blade Trinity!

Green Lantern would have been much better with a acceptable script ...

I don't get the Reynolds hate sure the actors done some shitty roles, but GL was in no way his fault, doesn't matter what actor played Hal Jordon in the GL movie it still would have sucked. By the way he was pretty amazing in Buried~(highly underrated movie)

Deadpool is cool, but please let it die Fox. We already know you won't make him the right way, so there's no reason to try. Let all the character rights revert back to Marvel Studios, so I don't have to watch another Fantastic Four-sized flop.

yeah ...i bet hes been getting grilled on that question....hes getting tired of the question you can tell. As far as we all should be concerned is that YES there will be one....WB would be retarded in the worst way to not keep the franchise going .....it would be alike throwing $200 mil plus down the toilet. I cant imagine that they wouldnt at least try to follow up with it.

I'd rather they drop Reynolds on Deadpool if they do a GL sequel or two. He was good in Wolverine, but since its supposed to be a complete reboot of the character in the Deadpool film, I wouldn't mind if they dropped him there, especially if they go ahead with a GL trilogy.
And if we don't get Deadpool by 2014 I'll be mad.

Ryan. believe me , you are da man. But for the greater good, you need to walk away from deadpool immediately. I am sorry, but despite 99% support that you get for being deadpool from uber comic fans, i strongly believe you are not suited for it and i have been saying this from the day you were chosen for this role. deadpool is all about voice and i am sorry your voice is not suited for it (as seen in borigins). someone like nathan fillion is perfect for that role. please listen to my humble request and walk away from deadpool.

Ryan will be himself when doing Deadpool. Let the Canadian be the Canadian.

Deadpool > GL sequel. That's gotta be in Ryan Reynolds mind.

Ryan Reynolds IS Deadpool.

But they both lie, a lot. If this is not just him lying again, it'll be great. More than great, actually.
