Why is Ryan NOT going to be wearing a actual suit? why will it be a complete CGI Suit?? Does this have something to do with the Power Ring??

Can someone re-inform me on part of Green Lanterns Origin, Im pretty clear on the Green Lantern Corps. & how Hal Becomes a Green Lantern, but Im a little bit cloudy on the power of the Ring.. I remember the ring giving the person in possession of the ring power to control & form shape shifting objects with his imagination, It gives him flight, creates forcefields, has to be charged every 24 hours ect.ect. & is weakened by anything that is the color yellow

BUT does the ring automatically suit him up once he puts the ring on his finger or does the Green Lantern Corps have suits that they put on?? Im confused to why the film is having ryan not wear a real suit.. I understand that Green Lantern Glows when using the ring, so i get why Reynolds will be wearing CGI dots , but Why cant he wear a real suit while doing so???

Thanks for the info John & Johan.. i hope the suit likes great too,, but it must bum out ryan reynolds alittle bit that he wont be actually wearing a great lantern suit because part of the luxury and honor of being cast as a superhero is being able to suit up and get that feel of being the superheros that theyve been reading about in comics since they were little kids...

I guarantee guys like Cris Reeves, Michael Keaton, Toby Miguire, Christian Bale, etc etc all have gotten suited up for the first time, looked in the mirror and felt goosebumps seeing themselves in character.. I also assume they even act & perform the role better because theyre dressed in character.. but in ryan reynolds case, he might not feel the part of Green Latern because the whole movie he'll be running around in a black wetsuit with CGI dots glued to him.. thats not fun if you ask me...

regardless, i think this is going to be a top 5 best comic book hero movie.. i just have that feeling,,i hope they get started with the Flash ASAP...

@Shunt
Superhero stories have almost never been about the iconic suits, but the people wearing the suits. I'm sure it won't be a problem for Reynolds to accurately portray GL.

@DeadDrool.. I kinda understand what your saying but at the same time I dont..

The suit is always the cornstone of a hero in the story.. at some point the character and the people reading the stories anticipate that moment where the hero puts on that suit to breakout of their alter ego.. the suit is what makes them feel free to do what they do best..

Plus,, everyone of us who LOVE superhero comics/cartoons & movies have all at one point in our lives as kids dressed up as a superhero.. whether it was our parents buying our favorite superhero costume in stores for halloween OR taking it upon ourselves as kids to be creative & desperate by tying a towel or a sheet around our neck to act as a Cape.. and any time we put that on, we felt like superheros.. lol.. as corny as it sounds, its TRUE.. it wasnt any fun running around acting like batman, superman or spiderman when we had regular street cloths on.. that shit wasnt fun, we needed the costume or the makeup to make us feel in character, it made us feel like we had power.. I would think the same applies for these actors as well.. they would feel the part better when suited up.. Not saying reynolds wont feel the part and do well.. i know he will because hes a good actor, but i just feel bad for the fact that he wont being wearing the suit just like all the other actors that portray heros do..

Shunt@ agreed. and you're not going to purchase a comic if the guy on the front has a lame suit. the suit draws you in before you can ever care about the character or not.
