Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy follows the newly-formed team who finds a strange artifact keyed only to the DNA of Peter Quill. Upon opening it, Quill unleashes a treasure map leading to a powerful weapon known as the Cosmic Seed which is capable of giving birth to the next universe. It’s up to the Guardians to find, protect and ultimately destroy the Cosmic Seed in order to keep it out of the hands of those who would abuse its power, from galactic big boss Thanos, to the conniving brothers the Collector and the Grandmaster, to a resurrected Ronan, to the ultimate trickster, Loki, in order to save the universe.

Starring Will Friedle as Star-Lord, Vanessa Marshall as Gamora, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot, Trevor Devall as Rocket and David Sobolov as Drax the Destroyer; Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy premieres Saturday, Sept. 26 at 9:30 p.m. ET on Disney XD.

Everyone looks great except adult Quill - with everything else coming straight from the movie, it should look more like Pratt

Marvel's animation has been pretty week even with Disney now owning them. This looks like the first project that may redeem them. I just hope the kiddie aspect they've doing in the recent XD shows is more of an adult/kid atmosphere. The movie was funny and I expect the show to be as well just not dumbed down...

If Jeph Loeb gives this the same care that he gives to AOS and Daredevil, then sure it could be decent.

Paul Dini works on Ultimate Spider-Man and Agents of SMASH, and those shows are still terrible. How is that possible...

Remember when things weren't always a movie tie in and they were good. I miss those days.the movies are great but they've ruined some stuff.

Actually looks pretty cool! A missed opportunity being too much like the film, though.

Everyone complaining that it will be too much like the film need to chill. Avengers Assemble was also loosely based on the film Avengers but it went way off the tracks and was definitely more comic influenced. I feel the same will happen here. We'll probably get Adam Warlock, Nova Corps (comics style seeing as how there's a Nova in Ultimate Spider-Man) and maybe even Quasar and other marvel cosmic characters.

I mean Star Lord is using his classic comics originated elemental pistol.

Remember the good old days when comic based cartoons took inspiration from the comics instead of whoring themselves out to the films?

Just saw the "Justice League: Gods and Monsters" movie last night and I will say it wasn't bad but it seemed like they just tried to make a more violent Justice League with heroes that have no moral qualms about killing.
Not the best animated DC film but better than some. Id say worth a watch, just don't expect the Justice League your used to and characters are like Singer Xmen, very loosely based on the actual comic characters as each hero has a different origin in this.

@Jeight How about Bruce Timm over at Marvel?
PantherKing

@captainObvious why do you always point out the obvious? This show is good. I have seen all the origins and this will be like earths mightiest heroes type of cartoon.

@Jeight

Paul Dini was with DC for 20 years before he switched to Marvel. Anything is possible.
Dredd97
Dredd97 - 8/3/2015, 1:22 PM
@Jeight Maybe. Though the man seems to be a bigger Jack Kirby fan than a DC fan. If he could do an X-Men or even Fantastic Four as a tribute to his hero, I think he'd take the chance.
