From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. James Gunn is the director and the story is by Nicole Perlman and James Gunn, with screenplay by James Gunn. It releases in U.S. theaters on August 1, 2014.

Well, Groot was massive in the comment so I can see why they would try to do the same thing here... I'm more than happy with the one we got though.

Gunn wouldn't be putting so much hype into the "Who is Quill's dad" mystery if the answer ended up being "that blue guy from the first movie." Gunn, cast Kevin Bacon as Quill's dad.

Groot was the most accurate looking character for Guardians, A Big Friggin Tree.. I'd smoke him to see what happens?

I AM HIGH!

Kevin would be perfect! Though I don't know if he'll have time with his highly successful tv series The Following going on.

KB would be a great cameo or even larger role, Quill's dad, lmao...

Half the reason so many audiences fell in love with characters like Rocket and Groot is because of how they looked. The FX team worked wonders with this and knocked it out of the park. Alien-looking, yet human enough that we'd sympathize with them. Simply amazing. The final designs couldn't have been any better.

Fantastic job of making a background character stand out and be a real part of the team. Bravo Marvel!

Did anybody else feel bad for those poor things? I mean i'm fully aware that it's fake and whatnot but I just couldn't help feel bad whenever they were in a game where they were just getting eaten by the bigger one hahah
