It's almost that time for Marvel's space misfits, and this year's second-highest grossing film, to hit shelves as the Guardians of the Galaxy digital format, Blu-ray and DVD release dates approache. In anticipation, director James Gunn has shared a "glimpse of the bonus features," which include deleted scenes as well as an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, the snippet below mostly highlights Gunn discussing the early stages of development on the Marvel adaptation; not to mention the pretty cool 8-bit intro. Anyhow, look for the digital format of Guardians on November 19, while the DVD and Blu-ray are scheduled for release on December 9.

I agree. That's why TDW was the last MCU movie I purchased due to them being real cheap with the special features.

@EzioKenway1225

I share the theory that Starhawk is Starlord's father. If we all recall, Peter Quill's mother obviously gave him the nickname "Starlord" as a child, since she addressed her last letter to him that way. Why would she do this? Maybe because his father came from the stars, and maybe because his father is the Starhawk.

Furthermore, as you say, Gunn is a fan of the character and has mentioned brining more "original" Guardians in for the sequel.

So while I don't know who James Gunn's Starhawk will end up being - his origins will obviously be changed - I'm pretty sure we'll get a version of that character.

At the same time, however, J'Son just makes so much sense, especially because Peter's father is continuously referred to as an a-hole or jackass. Starhawk from the comics never came across like that, I don't think.
