Will Dave Bautista Leave The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Franchise Behind To Return To WWE?

Dave Bautista is a key part of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and will appear in Avengers: Infinity War next year but could he be about to put that behind him to return to the wrestling ring?

Dave Bautista's acting career has taken off in a big way over the past few years, mostly thanks to his role as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise for Marvel Studios. Before the first instalment was released back in 2014, the man known simply as Batista to WWE fans had a rather interesting run with the company which saw him booed and dubbed "Bootista" due to them supporting the underdog Daniel Bryan (his return came at a bad time and viewers rejected his main event run as a result).

Well, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bautista is seriously considering another run with WWE which will reportedly last roughly six months to a year.

The main issue is that if he's offered movie roles while wrestling, WWE will have to accommodate that and it could cause some issues as they'll expect him to commit to performing in the ring. Interestingly, it's said that the Avengers: Infinity War star is after a full-time schedule which will see him working both TV matches and non-televised live events, so that could put his Marvel future in doubt as a result.

If nothing else, it will certainly cut down Drax's role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 or means that we shouldn't expect to see that movie become a reality for quite a few years. What do you guys think?

Why would you go back to the WWE when you established a respectable career being in films in the MCU, Blade Runner, & James Bond?

In many ways; Bautista is already a more respectable actor than the Rock in only 3 years

@LEVITIKUZ - he's a WAY MORE respectable actor than The Rock when you really look at it

If it happens, I hope it will be a better run than his last one.

I mean, he finished up GOTG and returned just in time to win the royal rumble if i remember well. Its not like he cant adjust his schedule.

@JohnGrayson - I am all for watching him in the WWE if he gets to battle Ronan the Accuser and Thanos in the ring. Bring on the MCU-WWE!!!

He's a solid actor and he's built a very nice career for himself. I'd like to see him stick to acting.

I think that this probably confirms my theory that he is one of the casualties in Infinity War.

Drax seems like a expendable character. He’s already reached his character climax.

Now all that’s left is either he defeats Thanos or is killed in the attempt. Anything after that is wasted filler for the cinematic version of Drax.

Go out in a blaze of glory instead of sticking around for poop jokes and relationship drama.

@IronGenesis - He seems to be a good actor and could likely have a career outside the MCU, the question is whether it pays the bills and he wants it. Maybe after the MCU he will simply find the WWE more entertaining on a wk by wk basis than waiting for acting gigs.

@JonC - I could buy this theory. Being a wrestler performing live every week is way different than doing a scene, waiting around for the next scene, perhaps some delays or some early shooting days aren't his thing. Some people live for the rush of live performances. Plus, he doesn't have much more to prove as far as acting. Maybe he's happy with what's he's been able to do onscreen
