HELLBOY Is One Hell Of A Superhero In These Two New TV Spots & Photos

Lionsgate has released two fiery new TV spots, featuring the titular demon doing his best to stop Nimue the Blood Queen from starting the incoming apocalypse, which might be easier said than done.

While Marvel's Captain Marvel should have a fairly uninterrupted run through the rest of March, we can't say the same about Warner Bros.' Shazam!, which will face some pretty decent competition the week after its theatrical debut from Lionsgate's upcoming Hellboy, which stars David Harbour in the title role.

While the initial teaser trailer received a mixed response from critics and fans alike, the recent Red Band trailer was received quite well all across the board as it looks like Neil Marshall and company have really cooked up quite the superhero adventure for the Beast of the Apocalypse.

Hellboy is back, and he’s on fire. From the pages of Mike Mignola’s seminal work, this action packed story sees the legendary half-demon superhero (David Harbour, “Stranger Things”) called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue (Milla Jovovich, Resident Evil series), a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Suddenly caught in a clash between the supernatural and the human, Hellboy is now hell-bent on stopping Nimue without triggering the end of the world.

Hellboy features:
Director: Neil Marshall
David Harbour as Hellboy
Ian McShane as Trevor Bruttenholm
Milla Jovovich as Nimue
Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan
Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida
Daniel Dae Kim as Ben Daimio
Sophie Okonedo as Lady Hatton
Alistair Petrie as Lord Adam Glaren
Brian Gleeson as Merlin
Laila Morse in an undisclosed role
Thomas Haden Church as Lobster Johnson

Hellboy hits theaters April 12

yeah, it's looks kinda medicore. some cool shots, monsters look evil and mean, also R-rating seems to be improvement. No sure about younger, meaner Hellboy though ... and his one-liners.

Professor Bruttenholm is definitely not old enough to be in WW2. What's going on here exactly? I don't even have a theory.

Do we have confirmation if there are hooves under those boots? Can't remember if we ever figured that out.

Could have been the most successful Netflix release and guaranteed a sequel.

Marketing is finally righting the ship after the bad 1st trailer. This seems like a fun time at the theater.

@8thDoctor - They seem to be marketing it as a pulpy but epic R-rated fantasy flick instead of a Deadpool/Guardians of the Galaxy ripoff like the first trailer made it look with it's pop song, jokes, and violence. This one, at least with the violence, seems to showcase the creative amount of gore and embraces it in a fun way with people impaled on the head and Hellboy making love with literal blood raining down on them.
