After previously debunking a rumored January 2019 release date, Lionsgate Summit Entertainment have now officially confirmed that their upcoming Hellboy reboot will indeed hit theaters on January 11, 2019

The film will star David Harbour (Stranger Things) as the titular hero with a supporting cast that includes Ian McShane (American Gods) as Trevor Bruttenholm and Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) as the evil Blood Queen. Sasha Lane (American Honey), Penelope Mitchell (The Vampire Diaries), Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii Five-0), Sophie Okonedo (After Earth), Alistair Petrie (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), and Brian Gleenson (Logan Lucky) will also star.

Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones) is helming the reboot with a script from Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, who penned it alongside Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden.

Production began in September and it should be nearing its stopping point in the next few weeks, if not sooner. Additionally, this now-confirmed January 2019 release date was initially reported back in September, but at the time, the studio quickly debunked reports and claimed that they were still working on setting a release date.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

I know usually January releases mean it's gonna have a low RT score, but those are the types of movies I love. I'm sure it'll be poorly received and reviewed, but I'll love it anyways. January is full of surprise gems of movies for me

@ForDarkseid - Underworld, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, I Frankenstein, and probably a few others I'm not thinking of right now. All of these not great movies acting wise, but for me; guilty pleasure movies that I can just pop in and kill an hour and a half with without having to think about much

What was the reason they didn’t continue the trilogy?? Was it the cost? It couldn’t have been confidence del toro or pearlman.
