Millennium Media has announced (via FearHQ.com) that Jefferson White will star as Tom Ferrell and Adeline Rudolph will play Bobbie Jo Song alongside Jack Kesy (Deadpool 2) as Hellboy in The Crooked Man.
White is best known for his roles in Paramount's Primetime Emmy-nominated Yellowstone, along with Endeavor’s Eileen, and IFC Films’ God’s Country. His upcoming projects include A24’s Civil War. Rudolph, meanwhile, should be familiar to you for her roles in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The CW’s Riverdale. Her upcoming projects include Lionsgate’s Creepers.
Specific character details haven't been shared, but Ferrell is a character from the comic books who appeared in The Crooked Man story which debuted in July 2008 to tie in with the theatrical release of Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
As for Bobbie Jo, we're guessing she's the newly created female lead who is set to replace Cora Fisher. Common sense says the next big casting news will be whoever plays The Crooked Man.
As previously announced, Brian Taylor (Crank) will direct from a script penned by Hellboy comic book creator Mike Mignola and Chris Golden.
With this news comes an official plot synopsis that reads, "Stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia, Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent discover a small community haunted by witches, led by the Crooked Man, a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy's past."
Interestingly, the press release announcing these latest additions frequently refers to this latest Hellboy movie as simply The Crooked Man, leaving us to wonder if the title character's name will be largely excluded from marketing. That would be a smart way to differentiate this adaptation from 2019's disastrous reboot starring David Harbour, anyway!
Millennium Media has yet to announce Hellboy: The Crooked Man's release date. You'll want to keep your eyes on FearHQ.com for the latest updates as we have them.
