In the penultimate Ash vs Evil Dead episode, "Judgement Day," Ruby and Kaya attempt to protect themselves from the Dark Ones by adding a new page to the Necronomicon. Ruby cuts her new page from the back of Zoe, her captive Knight of Sumeria who she had been draining the blood from. Kaya kills Zoe after she attempts to escape.

Pablo has tapped into another power of his as the Brujo Especial- being able to see through the eyes of the Necronomicon itself. The book shows Pablo where Ruby is hiding and reveals Kaya's soul inside Kelly's body, the reason that Kelly was unable to come back from the rift. Ash sets off to kill Ruby once and for all and recover Kelly's body, leaving Brandy with his boomstick.

Pablo heads to the hardware store to guard the rift, but it is already open. The Dark Ones emerge and take the lost pages of the Necronomicon from Pablo, sparing his life because of his connection with the book. With the Dark Ones free from their prison, they unleash a Deadite epidemic on Elk Grove that quickly turns the city into a war zone. Brandy is attacked by her phone which bites her thumb off, but she has the last laugh when she channels her inner Ash Williams and uses a lawn tiller to butcher her phone. She then joins up with Pablo.

Ash confronts Ruby, who quickly tosses him aside and crushes his iconic chainsaw. Before Kaya can kill Ash, the Dark Ones arrive and take Kaya's soul from Kelly's body before placing it in her original body and burning her alive. They then take the life from Ruby (Lucy Lawless), trapping her soul but not before she threatens that the prophesized one will defeat them.

Ash rides off feeling pretty proud that Ruby is dead, he has the Necronomicon, and has Kelly's body.  However, his success is short-lived as the Dark Ones steal back the book in Elk Grove, connecting the lost pages and having full control over the Necronomicon. As Ash, Pablo and Brandy watch in horror, an enormous Kandarian demon is unleashed on Elk Grove.

Next week, a Deadite epidemic and giant Kandarian demon have turned Elk Grove into a war zone, resulting in the army and air force launching a military assault against the evil dead. It is up to Ash Williams to fulfill his destiny as the prophesized one and save humanity. Watch the promo for episode 10, titled "The Mettle of Man," and check out a few promotional images for next week's finale, below. This episode serves as the series finale for Ash vs Evil Dead, since the show was canceled by Starz the other day.

"The Mettle of Man" -  Elk Grove is a warzone: Deadites besieging the town and ravaging its populace every which way, and Ash rides high in a military tank, speeding across shaky, post-apocalyptic Elk Grove. In the climactic finale, Ash fights the biggest deadite battle of his life – a sixty foot tall Kandarian demon. Is Ash going to fulfill his destiny, just as the Necronomicon had foretold and owning up to who he is - The Prophesied One? The episode was written and directed by Rick Jacobson, who also wrote and directed tonight's episode.

Starring: Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, Arielle Carver-O'Neill as Brandy Barr, and Jessica Green as Lexx.

The final episode of Ash vs Evil Dead airs on Starz next Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 9 pm EST.

Damn shame this is the series finale. Well, I guess we got a trilogy with young Ash and a trilogy with old Ash which is nice.

They better not kill him! I want the final scene to be him grabbing a hottie and telling her to "Hail to the King baby"
