Check Out A Hilarious Alternate Opening Scene For Stephen King's IT Featuring Pennywise The Clown

Ahead of the release of IT on DVD and Blu-ray next month, an alternate opening scene has found its way online which will make you laugh as opposed to giving you nightmares! Hit the jump to check it out.

The big screen adaptation of IT exceeded expectations both critically and commercially so it's easy to see why Warner Bros. is moving forward with the sequel (and once that's released, don't be surprised if we get some spinoffs too). The horror movie - based on Stephen King's novel of the same name - is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray next month and we now have an alternate opening scene.

However, this has clearly been put together by the movie's director and editors for a laugh as footage has been spliced together to show George easily retrieving his boat from Pennywise much to the clown's dismay! His reaction is priceless and the story would have ended very quickly if this had made the final cut. Plenty of actual deleted scenes will be included when IT is released, though, don't worry.

What did you guys think of the movie? Are you excited to catch up with Pennywise in the upcoming sequel? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below.

Haha that was great.

I loved this movie. Looking forward to the next one and hope to see more great King horror adaptations. Salems Lot, The Dark Half and Needful Things would be awesome to see, as their existing films are dated and/or awful. I’d love an adaptation of Something Wicked This Way Comes by this director, too.

As with many people I didn’t find the film scary, that was it’s only flaw for me. But there was some disturbing imagery. Although i don’t find clowns scary at all so horror clowns never creep me out.

Great to see the horror genre on the rise in the last ten years or so. It Follows, Creep, Insidious 1 & 2, the Conjuring movies, Annabelle Creation (first one was garbage but second was [frick]ing brilliant to my utter shock), The Devil’s Candy, The Invitation, Get Out, Sinister wasn’t bad... some real good stuff coming out.

didn't find it terribly scary, nor disturbing to be honest. There were a few jump scares but those are cheap scares frankly. Startling the audience is NOT the same as scaring the audience. Plus, there were some laughable scenes that were supposed to be scary but weren't like when they confront him in the sewer and he does his pennywise clown dance. People laughed in the theater I was in. Tim Curry was utterly terrifying.

Best comedy of 2017! Funnest time I’ve had at the movies in a long time. I’m not trolling I’m being honest, I haven’t laughed so much at a theater years. Can’t wait to buy it and see all the fun extras.

The movie had some great surprising elements of humor to it. It's great that they filmed this as a deleted scene, it seems more like a blooper though.

I'm sorry but I don't get the complaints in regards to the scary aspects of this film. This film was not a bed wetter but man it brought back/rebirthed the pure essence of what makes horror movies so great. It had the jump scares, laughs, thrills all in one. It was very entertaining and I had a great time watching it.

If you ask me...

Paranormal Activity 1
is still one of the most scariest movies I've ever seen.

Id like to see the same director tackle a rebooted "Child's Play" film.

My Official 2017 Horror Ranking:

The Killing of a Sacred Deer > It Comes at Night > Creep 2 > Split > It

Haven't seen The Void yet, but I've heard great things.
