Chloe Mortez and Haley Bennet Being Vetted for the Role of CARRIE

Apparently the enduring mythos of "Carrie" is so strong that it warrants another reboot and Chloe Mortez and Haley Bennet are in the runninng for the lead role.

Do we really need another reboot of this movie even if Chloe Mortez (Hit Girl in KICK-ASS) is in it. Will the line "I can see your dirty pillows" ever be that funny again? I for one don't want to hear 15 year old Chloe Motrez utter the response "they're called breasts mamma", it'll just make me feel skeevy to watch it. Is the fact this movie is being rebooted at all proof that Mr. Stephen King can craft stories of an archetypal quality that stand the test of time or just testimony that HollyWood, supposedly the most creative place on earth, can no longer think outside the box?

Now that Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry) is set in the director’s chair, producers are working to cast the lead in the MGM/Screen Gems remake of Carrie. Vulture reports that a number of actresses have been shortlisted for the part (including Dakota Fanning and Lily Collins) but Chloe Moretz and Haley Bennett (Marley and Me) are apparently the top two candidates. The remake is said to be more faithful to Stephen King’s source material than Brian De Palma’s 1976 film adaptation, and apparently The Descendants star Shailene Woodley has already passed on the lead role.

Who would you guys rather see in the role of Carrie: Chloe or Haley?

@kingmonkeyman: One of my co-workers not too long ago handed me a sample of the LEGAL drug salvia. I figured, it's legal how bad can it be? I smoked only a pinch of it and instantly lost grip on all reality. I kept hearing, for what felt like 3000 years, "THEY'RE ALL GONNA LAUGH AT YOU!"....I laughed with them

@Grif

They aren't remaking the movie versions. Carrie is a Stephen King book (which is really good, by-the-way).

@grif: shouldn't bad films be remade as better films? i don't understand the idea of loving a film and remaking it for that reason only. If you love an original film why would you want to remake it? remake bad films so you can do something interesting and innovative. That's the only reason remakes should exist. if a film is widely regarded as a masterpiece you should not be able to remake it.

@everybody else: I like "Carrie" and I don't think pushing Chloe Moretz on us is going to make me like her more as an actress. Don't remake iconic horror films, it's just silly.

Haley Bennet would be more believable for this role than Chloe Moretz
