this movie better match up with the original.
the end better be the last two guys chasing after the dog in helicopter. i hope they dont like try to mash together the original. just the fact that the main character seems to be a female tells me they wont. unless she is dead before the last two guys who chase that dog the hollywood will have done it again.

I dont think this is a prequel,in the original they got the alien from the ice..like this film,he defrosts...like this film, kills people and changes into them like in this film la la la

@Spideyboy91. In the original film the creature had already escaped from the ice and the Americans find it in the form of a dog that enters their camp. This is a prequel set 3 days before Carpenter's film.

@User1134 well both films focus on a group of people being attacked by a shape shifting alien in Antarctica so yeah it looks the same but this film is about the norwegians who discover the creature first (this is the destroyed camp McReady goes to in the 82 film).

I hope this movie is good, love the John Carpenter one. I'll never forget the first time I watched it with my dad I was like 9 or 10. I was so scared I had to sleep with my parents XD.

@Spideyboy91 It was a dog in the '82 one, they didn't find it in the ice the Norwegians (these people) found it in the ice

Hopefully it's as disgusting and traumatizing as the first one. Although I'm already not cool with the fact that all the actors suck

Is this a Comicbook movie?

"Is The Thing a 'comic book' movie? I thought it was a 'reboot/prequel/whatever of an 80's remake of a 50's sci fi movie."

Which is based off the brilliant 1938 novel Halt Who Goes There.

I agree with Maddmonk

There's so much to love about the original. I'm going to give this remake a chance, but I am highly skeptical.

Its looks "Okay". Probably with cheap thrill and the use of CGI. No Thing remakes can beat the carpenter version. as much as I love the old black and white one i think this one looks fine. Probably PG-13.

So then it is a comicbook movie of a novel... I´m confused

as nice as it is to see MEW on screen again...i gotta say they shoulda put her in a movie being set in the tropics, man... i don't wanna see her under all those thick and warm arctic jackets and sweaters and other stuff.

i wanna see her in bikinis or, like in Death Proof, a pom pom costume.
