The first part of Leigh Janiak's (Honeymoon) R-rated adaptation of R.L. Stine‘s Fear Street is now available on Netflix, and with Part 2: 1978 set to premiere this Friday, the streamer has released an intense new trailer.

This time, the nightmare continues in a '70s setting for a slasher-inspired tale which pays homage to summer camp horror flicks such as Friday the 13th and The Burning.

“Shadyside, 1978. School’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.”

Part 2 stars Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Emily Rudd (The Romanoffs), Ryan Simpkins (Brigsby Bear), McCabe Slye (Destroyer), Ted Sutherland (The Walking Dead: World Beyond), Gillian Jacobs (North Hollywood), Kiara Madeira (Trinkets), Ben Flores Jr. (Your Honor), Olivia Scott Welch (Shithouse), and Chiara Aurelia (Cruel Summer).

Tell us, have you watched Fear Street Part 1? If so, what did you think, and are you looking forward to Part 2? I wasn't the biggest fan of the first movie, but found the sequel to be far more enjoyable.

Fear Street Part 3: 1666 will finish the story on July 16.

@BlackBeltJones - I enjoyed part 1. It wasn't the greatest thing ever, but it was fun.

The soundtrack was basically the soundtrack to my teenage years. I loved it!

@marvel72 - it was okay. Characters are unlikable and lots of plot holes/bad dialogue

BUT it was entertaining

@ThorArms - Cheers,I have just finished Mortal Kombat.

The beginning of the movie was great but then it ended up being OK in places, the violence was good though.

Part 1 felt like a Nickelodeon or CW Halloween special at times with some of its bad dialogue. Other than that, I liked the retro look and some of the kills were creative.

Part 2 looks better as it looks like it’s embracing the camp, sleaze, and brutality of classic slashers.

I think Friday the 13th could work as a series. The first few episodes of random counselors being slaughtered and then the final episodes being pure cat and mouse games between Jason and the counselors left alive. Then make the second season of Jason hunting the surviving counselors at their homes.

Loved the first movie, can’t wait for this one!

And just gonna mention how much I hate CinemaSins for creating an internet army of people who don’t know what a plot hole is.
