We got a new trailer for the Halloween revival earlier this month, but to mark the 40th anniversary of the original film, director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis present this shorter teaser, which contains quite a bit of previously unseen footage.

HALLOWEEN First Reactions Hail The Horror Sequel As The Best Since John Carpenter's Original

Here, the focus is placed on Laurie Strode (Curtis) as she recounts the horrific events of the night he came home 40 years earlier. This time, however, Laurie is more than prepared to take the fight to her murderous brother nemesis.

Check out the trailer below along with a new motion poster and a batch of stills. Halloween is set to hit theaters next month.

This movie is gonna be a breath of fresh air for the franchise. The buzz at TIFF for it was pretty good. Can't wait to see what David Gordon Green & Danny McBride have cooked up.

It’s the perfect nailing of tone, atmosphere, cinematography and production value seen in each photo and trailer that just has to have the Slasher fans salivating and screaming for Blumhouse to somehow get control of F13th, NightmareElmStreet, Hellraiser.

Although legendary getting TexasMassacre might be something as well.

@IronGenesis - If we could get something along the lines of an "Inception" inspired "A Nightmare on Elm Street" horror film, that would be brilliant. I even have this story of a bored young Freddy Kreuger who loves to psychologically torture his victims and make himself someone they have nightmares about, before he is burned to death in adulthood and makes a deal with dream demons to haunt the children of the people who burned him to death.

Is it just me or does it look like at 0:55, that's Michael and the eye he was stabbed in from the original film?

I like the idea of all the other Halloween movies being “urban legends” that are told to scare kids in this universe.

@AnthonyVonGeek - I hope they can find a way to bring back the anthology angle again. "Season of the Witch" was terrible, but that doesn't mean a "Halloween" anthology film series wouldn't work.

and please please please tell me this creative team will have the guts to ACTUALLY MAKE A PROPER, DEFINITIVE ENDING! No last minute cheesy teases for another possible sequel. Finish the goddamn story.

Glad to take a break from Comic Book Movies for a bit. This is so exciting. One of, if not my most anticipated film of the year. I love the original, and I find redeeming qualities in the sequels. I love how there's a kind of legacy to it. Like, every ten years, a new film comes out. I believe this film could be the best since the original. I can't wait to see for sure.
