HALLOWEEN Producer Teases Early June Release For Sequel's First Trailer

Halloween producer Jason Blum promises "early June" will be a really happy time for fans of the horror franchise. Is that when we can finally expect our first look at the movie via trailer?

Last month, Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis revealed to fans that she had seen the trailer and some footage of the upcoming sequel/reboot and now we have a better idea of when the rest of us can expect to see it. Taking to social media, Jason Blum, CEO of Blumhouse and producer of the upcoming Halloween, strongly suggested the first trailer will arrive in "early June."

Although Blum didn't flat out say it was a trailer that we can look forward to, it's hard to imagine anything other than that will make fans happy. We've already seen more than enough promotional images. Of course, as a first look at the movie, the first "trailer" will likely be more of a teaser. Still, it's better than nothing as fans are dying to see what director David Gordon Green and writer Danny McBride have in mind for this revamp.

Last month, we got our first look at the first official poster for the movie. We're all ready to see what Curtis calls "full-tilt boogeyman."

Halloween is due out in theaters on October 19.

Nice. This movie has a lot of potential. Fingers crossed it lives up to it.

Also, saw Solo a few hours ago.

Spoiler alert: Han lives.

In all seriousness, the movie... let me put it like this:

Imagine if Taika Waititi was fired halfway through filming Thor: Ragnarok because they didn't like the way he did things and whoever they brought on to replace him ended up making something on the level of Thor: The Dark World.

That's Solo in a nutshell.

@MUTO123 - Shame, is it better than tlj at least?

@KermitCipher - No. Of all the Disney Star Wars movies, it's easily my least favorite.

Like, I'd say Rogue One and Force Awakens are each a B+, Last Jedi is a solid B, and this is a C.

@KermitCipher - Maybe you’ll like it more. I don’t know. I’d actually be curious to hear your thoughts.

@MUTO123 - It's going to be ages until i see, unfortunatly. Probably when the dvd releases.

@KermitCipher - Fair enough. That’s honestly the way I’d most recommend seeing it. It’s not awful or anything, and some of the actors are pretty damn good (including Alden), but it’s surprisingly boring, unnecessary, and a gigantic missed opportunity when you consider who was supposed to direct it.

@KermitCipher - Lando's pretty fun, and even L3 overall was just eh, she did get probably the biggest laugh out of me.

Everyone else is hit-or-miss. Other than Han, Chewie and Lando (because I know them from the other movies), any character I liked in this movie is simply because I like the actor playing that character, not because the character has any meat to them. Probably the biggest example of that is Paul Bettany. On the page, he is a NOTHING character. But I liked him because I like Paul Bettany. Woody Harrelson is good because he's Woody Harrelson. Thandie Newton seems like she'll be a cool character at first but then she's gone. Emilia Clarke just sleepwalks through the whole thing, and the most interesting aspect of her character is something we never see or get an explanation for. Even though L3 got that one laugh from me, all her other lines fall flat (most of the humour does, actually). And Jon Favreau's character is just annoying.

@MUTO123 - IWhat a shame. Hopefully boba fett, obi want and episode 9 are better.

@KermitCipher - At this point, the only ones I really care about are Episode 9 and anything that isn't centered on characters we already know the ultimate fate of, because that's one of the things that makes this movie so dull is that I know Han, Lando and Chewie HAVE to still be alive by the end of it.

From the reactions that came out of CinemaCon, this trailer should be something real exciting. And the exchange that Laurie apparently had at the end of that trailer is great.

“I’ve always secretly hoped Michael would escape incarceration.”
“My God, why?”
“So I can kill him.”

I’m so ready for Jamie Lee Curtis to be a Sarah Connor-esque action lead.

"We hear you." So, going by the test audience reactions, they've fixed the bad continuity between scenes and the collection of shots which appear to be just the best bits from earlier films? I need this to be good. Really good.

I'm on the fence so far. Hopefully we're getting a worthy sequel to the original for once and not another Texas Chainsaw 3D.
