Today we are noticing a trend of remakes happening with classic horror films. Recently with Poltergeist and many others on their way. With another revival of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday The 13th on the way soon, why not bring back Halloween again? They tried with Rob Zombie's Halloween and Halloween 2 so what could go wrong? Well Dimensions Films and Trancas International Films have set a production date for the next Halloween reboot, Halloween Returns. Only this time Rob Zombie won't be returning for this one after the critical fan reception against the last Halloween film destroyed it.
Bob Weinstein who is the co-chairman of Dimension Films quoted, "Michael Myers has taken a long break from the big screen and we know fans are eager to see him return. We are excited to be back in business with Trancas and look forward to bringing one of the scariest installments of this classic franchise to audiences worldwide,”

Marcus Dunstan will direct and write this new Halloween reboot with Patrick Melton also serving as a writer. Marcus Dunstan previously directed both the hit horror films The Collector and The Collection, and has also served as a writer for part of the Saw films. Patrick Melton has worked on the same films as Marcus Dunstan. So is it safe to say the new Halloween is in good hands?
Producer Malek Akkad who will produce this new film had this to say, "The legacy of ‘Halloween’ is something that Trancas is very proud of, and I look forward to working together again with Bob and Dimension to continue that tradition,”
It has not been said yet if the new Halloween film will follow the Rob Zombie reboots or take a new path entirely. Maybe the original continuity could make a come back? What do you think? Sound off below!
