The first trailer for the latest (supposedly final) instalment in the Insidious franchise, The Red Door, is now online (via FearHQ.com), and it sees the Lambert family return to face the demons of their past.

The footage features plenty of jump scares (which have become a staple of the franchise), as Patrick Wilson (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom), Rose Byrne (X-Men: First Class), and a now college-aged Tye Simpkins (Iron Man 3) reprise their respective roles as a family being tormented by malicious entities from a dark dimension known as The Further.

The movie also marks Wilson's directorial debut.

Check out the trailer and poster below, and let us know what you think.

“I’m honored and thrilled to be at the helm of the next Insidious installment, which will provide an amazing chance to unpack everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the consequences of their choices,” Wilson said in a statement back when the film was first announced. “Directing the movie is both professionally and personally a full circle moment for me, and I am extremely grateful to be entrusted in continuing to tell this frightening and haunting story. Into the further we go…”

Insidious: The Red Door is set to hit theaters on July 7.

Does no one proof read their work anymore? There have been a lot of sloppy spelling mistakes on here lately. Unless “Back to the further” is a saying I’m not familiar with. If that’s the case, my apologies.

@PatientXero - the further is a setting in the films. So going back to The Further makes sense. Dude the phrase was in the trailer
