The Tracking Board reports that Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The House of Flying Daggers, God Particle) has joined the cast of Michael Dougherty Godzilla: King of Monsters.

According to the site Ziyi will portray a key figure in the Monarch organization that was first established in Gareth Edwards' first film, and played a significant role in the events of Kong: Skull Island. Her unnamed character will more than likely appear in future films in Legendary's burgeoning Monsterverse.

Ziyi will star alongside Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford and the returning Ken Watanabe in the Godzilla sequel, whuch is set to stomp into theaters on March 22, 2019.
