Ok, so maybe not. If you think about it, what kind of a message are you sending to your child by buying them their very own Freddy Krueger Pedophile Damn It Doll? My gut says probably not a good one, but never the less I bring to you the new Freddy Krueger Toys from the upcoming movie "Nightmare on Elm Street" to be released next year on April 30th, 2010.

At least the Freddy doll on the left gives us a decent glimpse of what Krueger will look like this time around. An early review from AICN is praising the new "Nightmare On Elm Street" touting Jackie Earl Haley's performance of Freddy Krueger as the best part of the movie. The below pic is an oldie but goodie, and just in case you missed it:

I have to say, Freddy looks like a real burn victim in the rebooted/new version of "Nightmare On Elm Street". I guess say goodbye to everyone's favorite psychotic, fun loving, nightmare humping, pedophile and welcome in the new realistic version of Krueger. Hopefully, for the movie, this new idea will bring in some new fans and also re energize the fans from the original "Nightmare On Elm Street" franchise.

Ha ha ha! It does look like a Freddy Bratz doll.

You know what would be funny? If Freddy Krueger instead of brutally murdering people, he molested kids to death. To me that's WAY more terrifying. Molesting doesn't imply anything violent unless violent preceeds it. Killing somebody via molestation is something that would takes days, months, or years to kill somebody.

@ FlashThompson Kind of like "Death by Chin" where someone is beaten to death by a number of people using only their chins. (stupid, I know, but it would take forever unless one of those people was Jay Leno or Bruce Campbell)

Must every property fall to commercialism, where does it end? Some things in life weren't made to be kid friendly, we're talking about Krueger here. I'm getting real tired of this PG-13 world of ours. In the last year I've seen Wolverine with no blood on his damn claws, and a PG-13 Terminator-what the f**k and why????

I never understood the mass appeal of this character. Back in the day kids would be lined up around the block to meet Freddy, a mass-murdering psychopath that specializes in dismembering children. Now we get a cuddly little psychopath for the preschoolers. Go figure.

I don't think this merch will be aimed at kids, just adults who like to collect these things. Still, it does seem odd that they would make a doll, of all things, considering the market for Krueger will almost exclusively be adults.

Commercialism is right, Assassin. PG-13 is the perfect rating for bringing in the masses to a movie; it allows all the teens with disposable income (a huge audince) to see an 'edgy' movie, while making it 'edgy' enough to still capture the attention of adults who dont want to see anything too kid-friendly. I think thats why so many studios try to release PG-13 movies like Terminator-4. Still, I can understand Wolverine being 13, hes a comic book character. This means children, teens, and adults will want to see the movie so they have to find a rating to accomodate everyone without watering it down too much. I'd love to see blood spray with each claw strike too, but considering the mass appeal of the character, its not surprising they didnt want to make him too violent.

Yeah he molested, raped, and murdered kids. When it was released things were really touchy on what was acceptable and not acceptable to have in entertainment. He was supposed to be a horrible person somebody that Satan was to give new life to. A killer is horrible isn't as bad as a peder-ass child killer, that's REALLY terrible.

I'm diggin' how Freddy is looking realistically burned/deformed, although I thought he looked really creepy in "New Nightmare."

@Necro: In Freddy vs. Jason, it's implied that he is in fact a child molester. He's like a normal rapist/killer, but for children. In the movies he seems goofy and you wanna cheer for him, but deep down, he's one of the most effed up characters ever created in the things that he does.

Really, for him to be pitch perfect, the ears and Englund's honkin' nose. It'll be intereting to see a serious Krueger.

@ SHHH

that is a very cool avatar!! that should be the batman/superman logo in comics!

anyway, yeah, i really like the way this looks. people can say what they want about the old one being classic and this shouldn't be made or whatever. but the bottom line is this, the old ones were NOT scary...AT ALL! if i'm laughing the whole time i'm watching it, then i'm not scared. this is a horror movie, it should scare you. my only problems with the old ones was all the camp silliness. (don't get me wrong, i love all the old ones, and own them all, because they ARE entertaining) i'm psyched that this looks like it won't have all that nonsense.

i also like his face because it looks more realistic.
