This past Friday, Blumhouse returned to New York Comic Con to discuss their releases for 2025. All of the movies that had footage shown were from early in the year, with the rest being only mentioned or getting video messages from those involved to tease people. Head-honcho Jason Blum, for example, mentioned The Conjuring Last Rites and a few Atomic Monster projects, but nothing was shown or hinted at from those.
First was the eagerly-awaited "Wolf Man" remake, with writer-director Leigh Whanell of "Saw" fame showing up to debut the full trailer, which you can see here.
Following this was "The Woman in the Yard", from "Jungle Cruise" director Jama Collet-Serra, with a first look at the teaser trailer. Unfortuntately, it hasn't been released online yet, but what we saw was eerie and myserious. It involves a young black mother being seeming haunted by the title character, a myserious woman dressed in all black with a matching veil (think the Reverand Mothers of the Bene Geserit from Dune). We hear a child describing this being in an ominous way before we finally see it and the mother approaches her. The woman is seen telling the mother "Today's the day" in a creepy, light sing-song voice.......before showing her blood-covered hands. The rest of the trailer is flashes of the woman and her children being attacked by something, with glimpses of some skeletal shadow, implying the "Woman in Black" is some sort of supernatural/demonic threat. The teaser ends with the logo, the Woman herelf apart of it like a shadow, with "Today's the day" echoing eerily. It looks very chilling and I'm curious to see if Collet-Serra delivers with his return to horror.
Next was Drop, the new film from "Happy Death Day" and "Freaky" director Christopher Landon, with star Meghann Fahy coming on stage to discuss the movie, followed by a first look at the trailer. Like with "The Woman in the Yard", this hasn't been publicly released yet, but it's more of a straight-up full trailer than the former movie. Fahy plays a single mother out on a first date at a fancy restaurant.....when she starts getting threatening messages (the titual "drops) from a mysterious person. The texter reveals to Fahy's character that they have control of the cameras in both the restaurant and her home and can attack anyone at any time (A waiter is shown killed) before giving Fahy an ultimatum: kill her date or her son dies! The rest of the trailer shows Fahy strugglling to find a way around the blackmail while trying to figure out why her date is being targeted all the while we see her son being attacked back at home. The whole movie looks intense and very Hitchcockian in tone, a far cry from Christopher Landon's previous horror-comdies. We did get the reveal of the poster, but hopefully the trailer will be online soon, as I can't wait for people to see it!

The murderous robot is shown with a new anamatronic look Afterwards, we closed out the panel with a major surprise: the first look at the official teaser poster for "Five Nights At Freddy's 2", which shows the first look at Toy Freddy and the release date!
