when i see zombies I go ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZombies, cause they are just boring monsters to me. Give me a manticore or a basilisk or some other mythological monster over a zombie any day. Most people you encounter are zombies, with their cellphones stuck to their ears all the time, spending 24h in front of a computer screen whilst killing their brain cells playing dumb videogames or getting drunk. That's your future folks: idiocracy, not zombieapocalypse.

Well its definitely a different role for Pitt..I'm a big fan of his but we'll see how it goes. Looks pretty intense though. I Am Legend on steroids lol

Mehpic.

But then again, some movies I pass up for rentals turn out to be movies I wished I saw in theaters. Don't know.

Looks nothing like the book. I'm still not sure what parts of the book they are attempting to make.

@batfan, well for 1 zombies aren't even part of the horror genre anymore. They are more of the action/apocalyptic genre.

My only gripe with this is that it seems like they only borrowed the name "world war z" by means of marketing the movie. I mean I know movies are not necessarily going to use all of the source material, but this literally has given no nod to the books except for the title. and what is Hollywood's obsession with running and leaping zombies. This looks like shit

Sounds like they are trying to overlap the documentation of the whole thing over the outbreak as it's happening. Love the book, audiobook and supplimental stuff but I don't recall any of Zack being sprinters, they just move in huge herds that overrun lesser numbers of people. I'll still see it but I'll try to remove my expectations of the original source material.

@Dev7...not so sure he ever really had any to begin with, despite the fact he starred in some of my favorite movies: Se7en, Fight Club and 12 Monkey's. His acting was pretty weak in those movies.

This looks poor, btw.

This looks like crap. Being a huge fan of the book I had such high hopes for this. I believe there is a reason they aren't giving us a good look at the zombies. This looks more like the prequel to 'I Am Legend'.

Im sorry guys but im fed up of Zombie movies
MisterNiceGuy
MisterNiceGuy - 3/23/2013, 7:04 AM
lol everyone keeps saying they are fed up of zombie movies but its like the most deprived genre out there. look at superhero movies, comic book movies, vampire movies, badass protecting a random girl movies, really shaky camera horror movies, exorcist movies. we get at least one of each of these every single year and yet we get zombies what? every 3 to 4 years? i really dont understand that statement.

This one is better than the first trailer. I like the angle of searching or a cure. That's a bit of a new twist.

So they spent thousands of dollars for the book movie optinons and only used the title? Way to go Hollywood.

Brad Pitt had is best acting outings in Legends of the Fall, Interview with a Vampire, Fight Club.

But who're we kidding?

Dude is a movie star not an actor in the vein of DDL or even Tom Cruise.

And what the [frick] do you do?

Besides of course the occasional outing as a psuedo-intellectual prick?

To much CGI. So far this movie looks aweful. Not very impressed. As a fan of the book this is not what I expected. I will reserve full judgement after I see the film.

Im getting ripped apart on youtube for my views on this movie lol. I brought up the TWD and can not believe the amount of people that are choosing this shit over that show. I think that explains why our movies get altered to much. We are severley outnumbered by morons. And that is who hollywood gears their movies towards

Thank god it's nothing like the book, the zombies in the book are boring slow foot shufflers like in walking dead and the narrative isn't something that's worth putting to film for the sheer loss you'd have at the box office. This looks far more entertaining.
MisterNiceGuy
MisterNiceGuy - 3/23/2013, 10:58 AM
^ But this shouldn't even be considered a "zombie" movie if they have attributes that enhance human abilities. And im all for deviating from the original source material, sometimes it is necessary. But when you can not recognize the source material in the movie (besides the title) than you are essentially just making something new. And If they are going to stick with original ideas why not just make an original movie?
