As their San Diego Comic-Con panel gets underway, Netflix has released the first official trailer for Stranger Things season two.

The trailer isn't particularly spoiler-y, but it does reveal the new monster, which is some sort of spider-like behemoth. We also catch a look at Will and company dealing with the fallout from last season and then, everything is turned on its head when we catch up with Eleven, still stuck in the Upside Down, finding her way back to the real world.

Check out the new trailer, which is set to a remix of Michael Jackson's "Thriller," below:

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

Stranger Things features:

David Harbour as Jim Hopper
Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler
Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven
Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson

My theory about Will was right. He's stuck in between both dimensions, ours and the dark dimension. He's the doorway and every time he flickers to the other side, he opens the door just enough for some of it to get through and that giant monster is slowly breaking through.

My guess is that they're going to kill him towards the end of the season (most likely Hopper), or Eleven is going to rip away his connection to the Upside Down.

@Kr08 - Highly doubt they'll kill a little kid off. Although, I'm not sure what this show considers their limits.

@KWilly - Yeah, their limits haven't been set. We saw them "kill" Will with a fake body then have Hopper cut that open, Will die again, Barb dead with slug creatures coming out of her corpse, and Eleven evaporating. Who knows what the Duffers consider too much.

@Spider2YBanana - one of my only gripes about season 1, for sure. She came off so whiny sometimes.

What in the bleep is going on? I love this trailer though. Takes me completely back to the eighties. I only saw part of the first episode and no more. Following kids gets a bit old. I.. don't know how I can ever get interested in one of these drawn out mysteries again after LOST destroyed it for me by showing me you can hang on for years expecting a deeply satisfying answer at the end, only to wish you had all your time back when all is said and done.
