THE INCREDIBLE HULK Star Liv Tyler Trades In The MCU For Lingerie In This Must-See New Photoshoot
Liv Tyler hasn't been seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2008's The Incredible Hulk but The Lord of the Rings star will definitely grab your attention with this new lingerie photoshoot...
Believe it or not, it's been a decade since The Incredible Hulk smashed into theaters. As Marvel Studios celebrates its tenth anniversary, there's not much mention of the Green Goliath and that's probably because this movie has become the black sheep of the MCU family due to it receiving a tepid response both critically and commercially. Plus, let's not forget all the movie's crazy behind the scenes drama!
Edward Norton was promptly replaced by Mark Ruffalo when The Avengers rolled around and aside from William Hurt's General Ross in Captain America: Civil War, the rest of the cast hasn't been seen since. That means we've seen nothing of Liv Tyler's Betty Ross in the years which have followed.
However, the actress isn't doing too badly for herself as she's now traded in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a career modelling lingerie! Liv Tyler was cast alongside Edward Norton in 2008's The Incredible Hulk but the actress hasn't been seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since. The question is, why hasn't Betty Ross returned?
There's been no word on that but Bruce Banner has since moved on from the love of his life and never even talks about her! Instead, he's more interested in flirting with fellow Avengers, Black Widow.
Because Marvel Studios hasn't made a solo Hulk movie since 2008 (due to issues with the distribution rights to the character), that could explain why none of his supporting cast has shown up since.
After all, we've never seen the return of The Leader and that Doc Samson tease never panned out either. When it comes to Betty Ross, though, there is a chance she could come back down the line.
There have been rumours of Betty Ross showing up in Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers 4 but it's best to take those with a pinch of salt for now. However, there could be more to them than meets the eye!
After all, what if Bruce transforms into The Hulk and can't return to his human form? That's what we've heard will be the case so perhaps it will take Betty to help the Jade Giant calm himself down?
That is, of course, just speculation for now but it could work and would definitely be a fun cameo for the actress. She's obviously kept herself plenty busy since starring in The Incredible Hulk, though!
She hasn't taken on a lot of acting gigs since 2008 but Tyler had a memorable role in Super (which was directed by Guardians of the Galaxy helmer James Gunn) and then had only a few minor parts.
However, she has made the leap to television and landed a starring role in The Leftovers on HBO. She also had a role in BBC drama Gunpowder alongside Game of Thrones star Kit Harington.
One of Tyler's most famous roles is obviously Arwen in The Lord of the Rings movies. She actually learned how to speak the fictitious Elvish language that was created by J.R.R. Tolkien for the trilogy.
Tyler actually spent several months learning sword fighting to be used during the concluding battle scenes in The Two Towers but her scenes were removed after the script was changed.
Going back to The Incredible Hulk, Tyler has said that shooting the role of Betty Ross was "very physical, which was fun." She also compared her performance to being "a deer caught in the headlights."
A lot of different actors have decided against working with Marvel Studios again but it doesn't appear as if Tyler is among them. Her co-star Edward Norton, on the other hand, is another matter!
He had major creative differences with Marvel over the movie even after he decided to start rewriting the script. As a result, he refused to take part in the press junket and didn't promote it at all.
The Incredible Hulk can't have been an easy set to work on, so perhaps that's scared Tyler off superhero movies? With any luck, though, she will be tempted to return to the MCU...one day!
