We've been sent the following art and information about a limited edition release of Iron Man 2 on blu-ray which will be limited to 30,000 copies and on sale at Target.

With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts, and James "Rhodey" Rhodes at his side, must forge new alliances - and confront powerful enemies.

•Each case is individually numbered, with printing stamped into the metal on the top right corner

•3D Lenticular cover image features the MARK VI Iron Man suit

•Interior image is Target’s exclusive image of Tony Stark’s "Hall of Armor"

•The back of the case includes both Iron Man and War Machine

•Blu-ray sized metal case, from MetalPak, holds all 3 discs

Sounds pretty great huh? However, with a price tag of $34.99 is that a little more than you're willing to pay? Share your thoughts on this in the usual place and pick up your copy of the Marvel Studios blockbuster on September 28th!

Thanks guys! :)

Looking back, I cant deny that Iron Man 2 had it's faults but it was still one of the best CBM's ever IMO...they just tried to cram too much into one movie which very nearly resulted in it becoming a disaster like Spider-Man 3! Thankfully, the amazing direction and action as well as it faithfulness to the comic books saved it!

As for this box set, if they release anything even remotely similar here on Oct 25th (we get it in cinemas two weeks earlier but have to wait another month for the blu-ray, lol!) I'll most definitely buy it. Because this looks awesome!!!

even though iron man 2 is the worst marvel studios movie at the moment,i think from now on they're just gonna get better.

JOSH @ Dude, it wasn't far off SPIDEY 3 lol, but yeah it was no X3 hahaha, but there was way to many plot holes and stupidness in it to make it even a top 20.

DEADPOOL @ I think that too, at least FOX can't touch 'em! ; D

I don't know. I'm not big on having every extra ever. Once I watch them I don't watch them again. I'm sure someone will post the Cap and Thor trailers online.

Good stuff Josh :)

Hey Josh!
Any word on if IM2 will get a director's cut? I've read that both RDJ and Fav's were not happy with the film. It could be interesting to see if they let him do one.

@ eviltwin

i agree a directors cut could be awesome idea this is the scene i'd cut out its total shit, they could of shown his struggle against the booze in a much better way.

@ Deadpool
Ya, thats the scene I was thinking of too. I had no real prob with IM2, but the party sequence had a bit too much comedy in it for me.

I wonder what it was that Fav's and Downey had problems with? In the interviews I read, they were pretty tight lipped about specifics.

@ eviltwin

the action scenes are fine, the last one could of been longer & thors hammer bit was good as well.

its just the shit inbetween.

After the trouble I went through getting the Star Trek Target exclusive, you can bet your ass I'll be at the door bright and early to nab this baby.

So sad, yet another CBM that mindless automatons have decided that it's cool to hate for no reason.

HAWKS: I get where you're coming from actually! I used to buy blu-ray's for £20+ as soon as they were released but after realising that I was watching them maybe once or twice a year, I've found it much better to wait until they come down to under a tenner and I buy a pile of older movies for the price of one or two new ones! I'll probably make an exception to that rule when it comes to Iron Man 2 but I'd only consider picking something like this up if there was a small difference in price - I wouldnt play any more than £2/£3 more to be honest, lol!

Eviltwin: I've heard the same thing but as far as I know, they're not planning on releasing a directors cut...I'm sure we'll have plent of great deleted and extended scenes to enjoy though! :)

deadpool: It could have been done a little better but I actually enjoyed that scene! The way the action is mixed with the music was great but the scene does prove that trying to tackle Tony's alcoholism while also trying to keep it as a "family friendly" movie just doesnt work! It ended up being far too comedic and ended up missing the point IMO!

Umm...is it pathetic that I want this set even though i don't have a blu-ray player?
ScarletSpidey
ScarletSpidey - 9/7/2010, 5:21 PM
That's $25 more than I'll be paying for the normal blu-ray so I'll pass.

@ironknnight, you arent alone,my friend.;)

@joshw,will you buy, this, toy story and inception? even though i dont have bluray,i will do anything.
Eviltwin
Eviltwin - 9/7/2010, 5:50 PM
@ Josh
I'm sure there will be lots of extras like that too, I just hate buying something then finding out a "director's cut is coming the next year", lol. I'd rather wait to buy the better version if there's the possibility of one.

$35? That's [frick]ing retarded. I'm not spending that money on a nice looking case. I thought they were going to include like extra special features or something. Maybe include extra footage from Captain America and Thor in this version...just something with actual value. This is garbage waste of money, i'll just by my $24 or less copy from Amazon.com thank you.
