Though principal photography for Iron Man 3 was believed to be wrapping this month in the Capital of China, Beijing, the Hindustan Times is now reporting that extensive filming may take place in the Republic of India. Under Shane Black's direction, a group consisting of 12 people will soon fly to India, according to the trade source. “They will be here between January 20 and 24 for an extensive location hunt for certain scenes of the film. They will be visiting Hyderabad and Bengaluru to see how they can use this,” the source says, adding, “In the film, supposedly, Stark will be in India, and the techies here will help him with his technological problems.”
In addition to Iron Man 3, the Hindustan Times also reported, mid last year, that Marvel Studios and The Avengers director Joss Whedon plan to utilize India once more for the anticipated 2015 follow-up to last year's top money-maker. “Maharashtra and some locations up north have apparently been shortlisted as of now,” reveals the source. Anyhow, Iron Man 3 will soar into theaters in a little over 3 months, May 3, 2013; while The Avengers will reassemble on May 1, 2015.
