Indicating earlier that Iron Man 3 centers primarily on the love triangle between Pepper Potts, Tony Stark and his many suits, Kevin Feige has expounded their relationship, furthermore, during a chat with bloggers weeks ago. With Tony Stark's playboy card being revoked, Feige was asked whether having the genius billionaire model relationships positively was intended from the beginning.

“Well, you know, Tony, Pepper, was always the most important relationship to Tony Stark in the comics. That’s not always true with, Clark Kent has Lois Lane, right. That said, a lot of the other characters don’t have that.
The Marvel characters sort of do. We do pull it all from the comics and that is what it was. It really was fun to us in the beginning of Iron Man 1. He goes to Vegas, he sleeps with a reporter, to sort of set up that, so that the relationship with Pepper, there’s a flashback at the beginning of [Iron Man 3] with the Rebecca Hall character that shows what Tony was like many years ago, before he became Iron Man. You see a little bit of that playboy. But, the fact is, you always want to remind audiences of that side of him, so you can appreciate how, sort of mature he’s getting. That he’s putting all that aside to be with her. The other thing is, the chemistry between Robert and Gwyneth is spectacular. And, we just want to keep it with each movie we go, do we want to bring her back? Yes, of course. Because it’s just so strong. Yknow, the marketing to Avengers, you may remember the big line, uh, Steve Rogers, Captain America says, you know, without a suit of armor what are you? And he says, billionaire playboy, philanthropist, whatever, and even Robert would go, I’m not really a playboy anymore. And I’d say, the line’s good, it’s okay. It’s fun. Uh, uh, but even he was like, I’m not really a playboy. And he’s not.”

As featured in the final seconds of the recent theatrical trailer, Iron Man 3 will feature more suits of armor than the first two Iron Man films and The Avengers combined. Revealing how the suits will be introduced in the Shane Black-helmed actioner and how they’ll come into play in the big finale, Feige also shares Joss Whedon’s reaction.

“There are a lot of suits in this movie. While it is both a movie in which he spends quite a bit of time outside of the suit, as you see it’s not working and he’s- and he’s with Ty in Tennessee, by the end of it we reveal that underneath the house, which is now covered with rubble, he’s got dozens and dozens of suits. And once, throughout the course of the movie, and all that rubble gets pulled aside by construction cranes, just when he needs him, he calls them to the rescue and we have what I think is the biggest most action packed finale we’ve had. I showed the film to Joss Whedon, who is our writer-director of Avengers and who is currently working on Avengers 2, and he saw the finale of this and he goes, now what am I supposed to do now? What am I going to do in Avengers 2?”

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968. “Iron Man 3” is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures & DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing & Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Charles Newirth, Stan Lee & Dan Mintz are executive producers. The film hits May 3, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. "Like I said, I don't give a [frick] until Iron Man goes to Fox."
That makes much more sense than having X-Men and Fantastic Four going back to Marvel. (sarcasm)

On one hand, you have Mangold who won't let us know much about The Wolverine, and it's starting to make us angry.

On the other hand, you have the guys at Iron Man 3 who are drowning us in spoilers and images/footage, and i'm starting to wonder if it's worth the ticket price.

Of course, i'll be sitting in the theater with my eyes stuck to the screen during both movies.

When you have to use time travel as a scapegoat for people to forget the atrocities you made before and give yourself a second attempt at doing the characters justice.. yea your a franchise killer. stop trolling. nice try though

And the fact that fox is still making movies is not an argument. Look at twilight, nothing is good about those movies and yet its one of the most popular movie franchises to date.

@MisterNiceGuy

When you have to recast main characters because you're too cheap to fund money YOU PROMISED actors, yeah your a franchise killer.

Fox established one of the first superhero franchises ever STARTING in 2000. You look at Iron Man in 2008 and use that as an example?

Iron Man or the MCU in general would never have come about without movies like X-Men or Spider-Man. I just wish people would show a little respect.

Yes the X-Men franchise is flawed but to condemn it so much when it was essentially the prototype in a team up movie? Its just ridiculous.

You bring up the casting as if that affected its success, if anything it improved it.

Are you too ignorant to notice they make more money with every movie?

I agree with you that the MCU would not be what it is if it wasn't for sony and fox for the simple fact that they learned from ALL of there mistakes. And my god there were alot of em.

If you werent a Biased douche that hated Marvel movies simply for sport you would understand this. But i do not expect you to. Have fun getting a boner over pissing off Marvel fans. And ill have fun watching Marvel do CBM's the RIGHT way.

No one would be swinging from Fox' nuts that much, plus have that much of an axe to grind with the MCU, unless they had some close connection.

Or maybe it's just a cry for help.
xutroy
xutroy - 3/18/2013, 5:32 PM
Hey trolls

The only reason Fox is still making CBM is cuz they rush them into production so they don't lose the rights, hence Daredevil last year when they tried to rush it and failed.
Your Argument is moot point.

So you want Tony Starks entire persona, which spans over an entire comic series, to be taken into account in just 3 movies? cool. no wonder you like the xmen movies, bc thats what they do. They're just grabbin at straws and throwing a bunch of shit together.
