"I think for [my character], Spoiler: [Extremis] was a second chance at life. We talked about what you feel like and I think it almost makes you a fuller version of who you are, all your weakness and your qualities - just everything gets enhanced. I saw it as very freeing, almost you become your true-self and your fantasy-self all at once."

Sounds like they were trying to recrete the Super Soldier Serum. That's one of the things I liked most about the Ultimate Universe (pre-Loeb) - almost every superhuman spun of the desire to recreate Cap. (Including mutants, which took the idea a little too far, but points for trying to tie them in, too.)

i just read Extremis the trade paperback, last night..and [SPOILER!!!] I was 'extreme'-ly surprised at how TINY the role of Killian (played by Guy Pearce in the movie) in the story is. sure his impact is big, but it's more of a story between tony and maya with killian in the background..way back.

and now learning that POSSIBLY this szostak girl will be taking on the role as the living extremis, instead of a terrorist dude, it should be interesting how they're gonna have iron man beating up a girl (even one with super powers) and NOT making him look bad.
