I'm like the only person who's not excited for this. Especially when you compare it to other movies coming out in 2012.

Has a great, non-digital, feel to it. The flying machines feel like miniatures. Having the rock music gives it a Flash Gordon (Queen) vibe. In a good way.

I just worry for normal audiences that the gladiator battle scene looks a lot like Clone Wars and the Martians may look like the Avatar people. This movie will likely be better than both so hopefully we can say this film got it right (script).

Actually, the original first story was originally published as "Under the Moons of Mars", but that's not really important. I think people will understand that the movie takes place on Barsoom(Mars).

my gripe is that the Martians(especially Dejah Thoris) have on waaaay too many clothes.

Otherwise I think it looks realy good. I'm very glad to finally see a pic of Woola!

I wish they could have gave it a more realistic Martian look by giving everything, including the sky, a reddish palette.
It looks interesting though, and yet, no matter how it turns out, it has to be 100% better then that last John Carter direct-to-DVD movie that was released a year or two ago.

This looks great! I hope it actually is! If it makes a lot of money it could clear the way for some other great stories to see the screen.
